Everything is lined up properly?
When you push the pivot housing back does the other scale push away?
You might be hitting a washer when you try to push the female pivot piece in.
What scale are you talking about? The non-locking side or the locking side? Everything looks normal except the pivot housing keeps popping out when I'm sandwiching the non-locking side scale to the blade and locking side scale.
I would stop trying to sandwich it and take out the blade and washers. take off the non locking side and all the hardware that goes with it. Push the female pivot through, add locking side washers, add blade, add non locking side washers and then your scale and such. I don't know if that's what you are doing or if you've already done that.

I did this and screwed in the pivot and the body screws, but the pivot housings still popped out like in the photo, but it's not popped out as far. The blade is off-center and barely touching the liner now.
