Hey Justin, I would check and make sure that SnG isn't fake. It looks a bit iffy to me but I'm no expert on Striders. I don't think they made them in 154CM either. It's probably CPM-154 if it's real.

I agree. As far as I know they've only been made in CPM-154 not 154-CM...could easily be the person selling doesn't know the difference though.

I'd have to agree that looks like a fake. I have a had a few striders and a clone at one point and yours pictured looks like the fakes.

I think you are right about the steel. I am ignorant about these so any input is greatly appreciated. He did say it was about 3 or 4 yrs old.

Im not very knowledgeable on the older striders, but that definitely looks fake. I think only the MSC (Mick Strider customs) have a spearpoint blade.. And even then the lettering looks off, and the pocket clip looks funky.
Idk... Tread lightly dude, thats setting off red flags for me.

Yeah, that pocket clip screw looks too small as well as the clip looking a bit weird. The stamps look odd and the blade finish looks sketchy to me. I would chack out Tuffthumbz's video on how to spot a fake strider, J-dog. It's quite thorough.

I appreciate the input gentlemen. Like I said I know nothing about striders. I'll check out the vid. Anyone know anybody knowledgeable on these I could contact?

Justin: I believe Jdavis882 did a video about fake striders at some point...good night gentlemen.

Yeah, I think you're right. You could also contact other knife pimpers like Alex Dietz and others that do a lot of Striders. I know Vance Rhoads has had an alarming amount of striders pass through his hands so he'll probably be able to determine if it's real or not.

Contact Strider directly! I hear they are somewhat knowledgeable on the subject ;)

Duh! I didn't even think about contacting the people that make the knives:o. It's a good thing we have some smart people floating around here.

Huh, I never would have thunk
Should have thought about it in the beginning :D
Thanks guys.

That'll be $5 each, gentlemen.. Genuine sarcasm isnt cheap these days! I also accept payment in the form of BudK gift cards, anything Gerber (it has to have Bear Grylls name on it), or Lynn Thompson's awesome shorts!

Haha, I don't have to pay. Sucks for you guys!!

Hey now! I'm blasting your Izula so that precious sarcasm should be partially free for me. And you know Lynn's Beautiful shorts are in an air-tight display case on my wall guarded by my Bearded Dragons. I'm not giving 'em up without a fight.

I was meaning that as in, sure why not?
A load is something a batter does before the pitch is thrown but while the pitcher is winding up to actually pitch the ball. Imagine a batting stance. The batter will have 80% of his weight on his back foot and 20% on his front foot. When the pitcher's hand gets to about his head or a little bit before, the batter will put most of his weight on his back foot and drives his hands through the strike zone while making sure his front foot is planted in the spot it was before he loaded. Imagine it like you're squashing a bug. It's easy, but hard to do. Even harder to explain.
