Morning everyone. Couple of 0600s on the bay this morning.

Wow, $555? Dayum... If this release goes like the 0560CBCF and there are still several available...I may actually pick one up. Maybe...unless the 0801 is as awesome as it was when I played with it at Blade Show. Or unless more flashlights come out that I want.

*sigh* Fox knives "N.E.R.O" composite blade. Titanium spine and N690 edge. It makes my blood boil:mad:

Oh and Mario, the comment on your EDC video was epic.

Thank you, thank you. I've been pretty well trained by the paintball "community" to respond to trolls. I used to be much more angry, but I usually delete the pointless ones and have fun with the dumber ones. :D

So, I've never heard of Fox knives. What's that all about? Looks like a Kershaw Brawler.

It was one of the better insults I've heard. I don't Really know much about fox knives. I started researching after I heard they were doing a collaboration with Jens Anso. Made in Italy, some interesting designs, supposed to make a good karambit *shrug* and it does look similar to the brawler, I'm more annoyed about the composite blade though.

I hope they end up stabilizing quickly. While the knife isn't for me, it seems like a lot of good folk around here want one and I hope they can get one at a decent price. As for the CBCF, now that they have calmed down I will pick one up soon. Brings a smile to face to know that the "flippers" may never see the $500-$700 they were hoping for on the CBCF.

Indeed. It also makes me smile that some schmuck paid like $900 for one of them. :D Hi-larious.

So...steel and titanium composite blade eh? Hmmm.... odd.

What really annoys me about this is they used the puzzle piece pattern. It is a little different but really come on now. I am going to have to research fox knives a bit more to see how pissed off I should actually be

This is the excerpt from their product page about it.

THE NEW WAY OF THINKING KNIVES Titanium GRADE 5 on the spine and N690Co Cobalt Vanadium steel on the edge, the result is this new futurist way to make blades. The COBALTITAN range reduce the weight of the blades keeping the same long edge resistant and performances. We have an Hardness of HRC 59-60 on the cutting and around 49-50 HRC on the spine. These brand new products are actually the highest performances knives in the market, the blades are very strong giving all the cutting performances of an high quality steel blade and in the same time also the a better resistant to corrosion of a regular full steel knife. The Titanium gives also a better flexibility to all the knife. The weight of the blade is reduce of a 20%

It would take someone from KAI. to respond for certain. But the braze weld technology is not something new. Kai may have used it first on blades. As for Fox's design, I don't really see it being a copy of Kai other than maybe using the circle pattern.

Yeah, I saw that new line pop up on CPF, and I was intrigued by it. I'm a little irked though that it looks almost the same as the Zebralight

The screen is nice, but it may be a bit too much at the head for comfortable pocket carry. That being said, I'm likely to try one out soon, since I recently got the updated Jetbeam RRT01 with the XM-L2 and it's a really nice light. I tend to also prefer an XM-L emitter to an XP-G, since I'm not usually a fan of such tight beam patterns...

So Steel, how goes it? :D
It is going well. Went and saw where the lost colony was in NC.

I have a Jetbeam DC-10 and love it. I like that it is a twist bevel for changing the light output as I do not really care for a ton of tailcap switches. Also been looking at the JETBeam RRT01, although I think it is Sunwayman or Zebralight that does a adjustable ring for output also.

I agree with that. As I said before though more pissed about the pattern. I don't know if any patents have been infringed, will be interested to see what KAI has to say about it.

I'm fairly pissed regardless...

One thing I'll add is the fact the the two pieces look pressure fitted. It's still a rip off, but it looks to me the actual methods is different. Could be wrong though.

Interesting. Have to see what KAI has to say about it. I was looking at a Karambit from them, but may hold out due to this.

I'd love to hear what they have to say.

Agreed. It could be trademarked or something. It still is a bit of a principle too though. As I am pretty strong for the protection of IP.

It's indeed the Sunwayman lights that use a control ring. Zebralight uses an electronic side switch, and it's actually become my preferred method. The Sunwayman V11R is the current gen version that has the continuously variable control, while their M11R has three steps in the control ring. I actually prefer the M11R because it's smaller and has no tail clicky switch. If you have the chance to get the new Jetbeam RRT01, I recommend it. It's a useful light, and works well for pretty much anything.
