What freedom? *grumble grumble*
Don't you start :D.
So Dave is awesome and I will leave it at that :).

Also Stick, if you ever decide to sell your back up camera let me know. Also can you pretty much drop the files out of the camera and upload directly to Youtube?

My old backup camera (Canon T3i) is actually already on eBay. The files that come off of it aren't really YouTube friendly to be honest. The mic on it isn't good, and the audio input is noisy because of the "meh" pre-amp. When I used to make videos with the DSLR I would use an external audio recorder and then sync the track with the video in Premiere Pro and ditch the camera audio.

The files are also very large coming off of the memory card and depending on how good you are with settings, could need some color correction and grading. The results were always nice, but the hassle wasn't worth it in retrospect. After I got the Sony VG30, I realized how many hoops I was actually jumping through for each video. The picture quality was good, given the right lighting, but I'm actually getting better results from Sony's stuff.

If you want to start to refine your video production, I recommend looking into some decent editing software. Of course I recommend Premiere Pro or Premiere Elements, but there are a lot of good options out there.

As for cameras...that talk could take a looooong time. I'm happy to have it though if you want. Let me know, and we could chat it up.

Yah I am for chatting it up sometime. What was the other model of Sony you were talking about, somewhere in the $500 range I thought?

The Sony NEX 5R is the one I'm picking up. It's the successor to the NEX 5N, which was a crazy popular mirrorless camera for video. The NEX 5 was also very popular, but either the 5R or 5N would be the camera to look at. You can get one with a kit lens for around $500-600 depending on where you look, although eBay is a great spot.

Their audio isn't the best, but the samples I've heard show that the audio is better than the Canon DSLRs, as they actually have a stereo setup. On the 5N and 5R, the two stereo mics are on the top of the body which would be good for narration.

I think the NEX line is really worth looking at, because the sensors they're using are just fantastic.

That strider was a fake.( I have knife issues) for those who want to know. I don't think he knew it was a fake, no bad intentions as far as I can tell.

I'm glad you didn't get ripped off broman. that would suck big time.

Happy fourth everybody. Going to be a pretty lame day as far as I can tell. My brother is out with some friends so it's just my dad and I and it's pouring down rain here. Eh.

Why don't you and your dad have a two man party?
