I'm so sorry to hear that Eric. We used to have a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix named Chloe in California. She was like a best friend to me. I remember everyday after we ate dinner I would go out back where she was and feed and play with her. Half of our backyard was overgrown with trees and bushes so I would like to to pretend I was Steve Irwin and go on little mini adventures with Chloe. She was my best friend.

When my parents decided to move to Kentucky they realized they couldn't afford the kennel and fees as well as other things to bring her with us so we tried to give her away to a good home. We put fliers out across San Luis Obispo offering a 50 dollar reward to anyone who would take care of her but no one was interested, so we had to put her down. I was six years old and it was one of the worst experiences I've had to go through. You do get over it eventually but it takes awhile.

Just thought I'd let you know you're not alone.

I feel you steb, it's most definitely a hard time. At least you care enough to realize the time has come and to try and hold on any longer would be for you not him.

Very sorry to hear that brother. She looks a little like my girl. I have been through so much with her that I can only imagine how hard it must be for you and your family.
