Order of KAI Official Hang Out; Part Deux - It's Enrico Palazzo!

Last year I picked up a mini grip to check ou BM knives. I wasn't impressed... Came dull, I hate the grip material, and although everyone loves the axis lock I did not. My mini grip has some play in the blade (something I cannot tolerate) and upon some research all the BM fans said o that is just a little side effect of the oh so mighty axis lock. Throw in the fact that you can't disassemble to clean without voiding the warranty and that's it... My final BM purchase.

Who said you can't take it apart? I took apart my old M4 grip many times, and they had no problem replacing it when it's coating peeled off.

It says it right in their warranty, I'd say you got lucky and they didn't notice.

I told them outright that I took it apart. I honestly don't think they care. I think they only say that, so they don't get a bag full of parts with a note asking them to put it back together.

huh... i dont think they all have blade play though, all of the knives in the cabelas from them had zero play, they might have solved that issue since your last buy

Iv'e heard a lot of claims that they have refused warranty work because the knife was taken apart and cleaned. VVV it's not a ton of play just a tiny bit but zt has sent my standards through the roof. The blade had blatant machining marks on it too, I just can't stand behind that company. Mini grips at the time were about 65 dollars and I feel I got a 25 dollar knife for that price. Also the thumb stud would snag on my pocket when I took it out so someone would ask to borrow my knife and the blade would deploy like it was waved and there I am holding an open blade out to someone. The whole thing really doesn't sit well with me I feel you pay for the name and any of the new kershaw Chinese knives will outshine the 100-150 dollar BM knives for less than 50. And it isn't just brand loyalty because I spend 60 on a spyderco manbug in zdp189 and love that knife... Totally lived up to the spyderco hype.

I hope today is a more tolerable one. I was pretty irritated by Comcast and a douche' who thought he could pull a fast one on me.

I Lost it on the Comcast Indian cs rep when he tried to tell me I could not hook up a component cable as a RCA for 480P. This was after waiting 45 minutes to talk to someone and my supper was getting cold on the table. I had already trouble shot every cord and connection. He tried to tell me I was never going to get it to work because I needed 5 wires to view in HD. All I wanted to do was confirm signal to the set top box because the HDMI and The HD component ports were not functioning. It did work and I told him, he had no idea what to say. I asked him if he had ever worked in the field because I got the suspicion he never had. He said "yes" I used to work on appliances. Biggest face palm moment.

I said well chuck (I had no idea what his name was), refrigerators, microwaves, and stoves do not use HDMI, component or RCA inputs. I don't think you have a damn clue what you are talking about. All I want you to tell me is there is no HD signal able to be viewed from this box. He had started to say about using the correct input on the T.V. and I told him I had already confirmed the inputs for all 3 cords. I reiterated that I had worked installing fiber optic T.V., internet, and phone systems for a large company and that I was done talking to him because he was worthless in helping me. I threw in the towel and hung up. They either haven't provisioned the right packages on the box or the HDMI and Component ports are screwed. I'm exchanging it again today for another box. What a waste of 3 ours of my life.

ouch  if only they had the guys from kai working cs :)

VVV your average person wouldn't notice the problems but I'm the crazy knife but in bladeforums lol.

mark, did you make it so you dont show on the thread info?

No.

Oh, ok.
I think the M4 Griptilian was the best value for money out there when it was released. M4 steel for only $100. Handle material might suck, but I don't really care. Also mine doesn't have play.
Actually that's a lie. I didn't bring lubrication, and all the lubrication got washed away by the ocean, so the pivot is pretty loose. But that's not it's fault.

i think i just scared the shit out of a guy taking measurments of our house to fix the basement leak problem i told you guys a while back, he walked into my office and my 0200 was on the desk open, he says "thats a knife" but he said it in 8 octaves higher than usual

Hahaha that's excellent. One time the boss was on vacation and her assistant killed a squirrel with a pellet gun. I walked in to find him making another guy hold it while he went about some of the cleaning procedures. The guy didn't look the best when the feet were snipped off but when the assistant took it back and proceeded to pull the skin off he looked like he was going to faint lol.

cool! ^

well this sucks, im doing the math, and for all of my bigger knife wants (griptillian/mini, kershaw shallot, 0560, knockout) are only affordable after school starts... not a biggie, just a little annoying
