Order of KAI Official Hang Out; Part Deux - It's Enrico Palazzo!

Does anyone else have a really hard time making knife purchase decisions?

oh ya, i only have $30 in the knife funds, and i have a huge list of knives, (just ask kirby :D) and more keep being added, its especially tough for me because i still have yet to make a knife purchase above the $100 bar, and i really want to get knives in the $400 range (most of my wish list blades are there) but im terrible at the waiting game...

Its pretty rare, but i've found myself in a pickle before. Im probably going to have a hard time deciding tomorrow at GP.

I was going to recommend you take a look at the Spyderco Domino - looks like GP is out of stock already though. Might have one left in store to play with / oogle.

YEAH! I saw that in their new products list. Im going to have to look at one for sure.

Anyone have any other requests?

Hey Eric, could you please give me a general idea of how the BM710 feels, and stuff like that? And could you possibly compare it to another knife? Preferably a Griptilian, or blur.
And could you possibly do the same thing for the BM 300SN flipper?
Thanks man.

Dose/has anyone own/owned a energy? (Grey G10 and trac-tech) do you like it?

I've got a 1745BLK (black G10, black blade). It's a nice knife. Like the OD-1 (and presumably OD-2, both of which are also Lee Williams designs), the flipper hides away once the blade is opened. The flipper itself is actually a separate floating piece held by grooves in the liners themselves.

The 710 is a pretty big knife. The G10 is textured, but it isn't the rough, grippy surface you might expect. It's actually smooth (almost feels like a layer of varnish). It carries pretty well because it's fairly thin and narrow. The ergos aren't especially great (at least to me). I much prefer the handling of the 551 and Blur. The placement of the thumb ramp actually pushes your hand pretty far back on the handle. I can still get a full 4-finger grip, but it feels a bit off. Not really sure how to describe it, but it just doesn't feel right. The blade does have a slight recurve (slightly less than the Blur), and Benchmade does a great job with their D2 (based on my experience with my Mini-Grip). If you're looking for that long, narrow style of knife w/ Axis lock, I'd recommend the 940 or 943 over the 710.

Thanks flarp. Do you have a 940/943 that you could compare to the blur/grip?

Here ya go. The differences between the 940 and 943 are sheepsfoot vs. drop point blade, green vs. black handles, and purple spacer vs. silver. I really like the 940. The only thing I don't like is the purple anodized backspacer (looks sort of like a neon purple color).

Wow, I'm really loving the looks of the 943

Edit to Add.
Thanks flarp for the pics. I think I may need to get a 943 in the near future.
