That's actually pronounced "yay"even though it looks like yeah "yah" atleast in that case.

If you've ever been in a meeting and they are trying to pass a motion, they will say all those in favor signify by saying yea ( you say yea), all opposed (you say nay). The motion either passes or gets denied depending on majority. If its too close, then you vote by electing a sergeant of arms and casting a ballot which is counted by the S.O.A. and confirmed by the president or officer in charge as per your bylaws.
