I've been hankering after a Swayback, this one arrived over here yesterday and it's just what I was looking for:)

:D

I picked up another yesterday :)

I'm online looking for a lamb foot, and I blame you, Jack.

:D Keep me posted r8shell, I can always pick you one up over here (though it's not as straightforward as it should be)

Thanks. I found a site that ships in the US, and ordered myself an A. Wright Lamb Foot in stag. Hopefully it gets here and it's a good one. :) I'll post pics, and I swear I'm not buying anything else until I do my taxes in April!

Me too. These comments having me wanting one now! It's only a matter of time....

I'll post pics, if good, bad or indifferent. I'm a little apprehensive, as I read that the QC can be inconsistent. Oh well, I had to risk it. I've also read about the dangers of drinking while online shopping, but no one warned me about shopping on Sudafed and fever. :p

The QC CAN be off for sure. I think you've reduced the risk somewhat by ordering a stag model, the few retailers who ship them tend to do their own QC, I've only had good experiences. I like the plain rosewood ones, but you have to go through a pile of them to find a model without too many flaws. I bought Charlie's A Wright & Son Buffalo Ettrick over the counter, and the first I looked at was stunning. The blade on my Oxhorn Lambsfoot (bought mail-order) is slightly off-centre, but I'm pleased with it. I think these knives still provide great value, and the Lambsfoot really is a great pattern in my opinion. Did you go for one of the fancy worked-back stag models or the plain r8shell?

Plain. To each his own, but I don't really care for the filework. At least on this design, I like the clean, simple lines.

I'm of the same opinion, I think some of the file-worked Lambsfoot knives look a little too 'busy', particularly when both the back of the spring and blade have file-work, it's a working pattern afterall. I'd intended to get a stag model recently, but the vendor didn't have one in stock without file-work at the time.

So the lambsfoot came in today. I don't think I've ever had a knife look less like the dealer's picture. I'm not sure what to think. I'll post some pictures, but I may do it in a new thread, so as not to hijack this one.

I do enjoy seeing that knife Mike^^

It's all stunning but I especially like the way the grinds have been executed to accommodate the blades:)
