Hello knife enthusiasts, I would like to share my first time buying experience from BladeHQ with you. I purchased a Boker Kalashnikov Automatic Knife Safety Orange, 3.3" Black Dagger, $39.99 plus $4.99 shipping. When the knife arrived, I noticed right away that the blade had 2 nicks on it. Of course I contacted their Customer Service the next day. I asked why the blade is in poor quality, their Customer Service Manager replied is because of the conversion process to automatic. I believe this is a quality control issue. If they are going to convert a push button knife to automatic, at least check to see if there is any damage before selling the merchandise. I was not happy with the quality of the knife but do not want to waste anymore money shipping back and forth, I asked for a discount so that I could get the blade a retouch. He offered me $5 off. This discount does not even cover the shipping their charged me. I looked up Boker's services and the retouch is $19.95. After many emails back and forth, I agreed to ship the knife back to get a replacement. Now a week later, another Customer Service Rep. emailed me saying that they sold out of the knife I bought. Why didn't the Manager put aside a knife for me knowing that the bad knife is coming back to their Return Department. This person had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to get another knife with the same price. I am very dissatisfied with the quality of knife and the level of service at BladeHQ. I will not buy anything from this place again. Before you buy, read other people's feedback.

With such a large inventory I'm sure it's difficult to check ever single knife before it goes out to the customer... unless was something of their fault. BladeHQ is an extremely reputable dealer around here, as well as active forum members. So much so that I have heard very little complaint about them, your isolated negative experience seems to be just that though, but it does still suck.

The blade had two nicks in it? As in the edge was chipped or the finish had two nicks in it? Because if it was just the edge, I don't know why you wouldn't just sharpen them out seeing as how it's a $40 knife. It's not like it's going to be a safe queen or anything!

Also, not sure how it's their problem that you don't want to ship it back to them. Is BladeHQ supposed to believe everyone when they ask for a discount without proof?

I love Bladhq I have done almost 10 orders some ranging from $30 up to $500 and every time they exceeded my expectations on every side. My shipments always ship out quick and arrive fast, whenever I have questions they always take the time to answer on the phone or email. But no one is perfect and I doubt everyone has had such a good experience with Bladehq.

I purchased a custom knife from them that had blade play issues. They paid for my shipping to return the knife with no questions asked and then let me pick a replacement of my choice. I could of purchased the replacement knife elsewhere for less money but I didn't because the customer service was so good.

I do not like receiving knives in less than perfect condition either but, quite frankly, you can not expect a $40 knife to have the consistent level of QC found in more expensive products. It is nice when it happens but an unrealistic expectation in my opinion.

I've had nothing but good experiences with BladeHQ, including a return and exchange.

How is this bladehq's problem? Bladehq isn't the one that manufactured the knife. Also bladehq and most other dealers I believe don't open and inspect every single knife that they receive because it just isn't physically possible.

Sorry you got one that didn't meet your expectations. That could happen with most any knife.
It's not their fault Boker charges half the price of the knife for a touch up. I would have took the $5 and sharpened it out myself.

BladeHQ is one of the best there is IMO.

I'm very sorry you had a bad experience with us. We do our best, but issues are going to inevitably pop up from time to time. Getting a knife with some nicks on the blade would be disappointing but we have a pretty fair return policy and in cases like this where there is an issue we offer to pay for return shipping & refund the full purchase price. There's not a lot more we can do. Hopefully you got a full refund- you have my apologies.

This person had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to get another knife

Ah, the nerve of some people.

That's about as fair as it gets, quite beyond it actually.BladeHQ are good people imb.

I've never bought from them. But after seeing the stores response to your complaint here, I will definitely buy from them.

Yea its a bummer when a knife does not meet your expectations but the good news is that they came on here and stepped up to the plate to make everything right. Very important in my book. That is why they are my one of my favs.

I've been ordering from bladehq for years now,no problems at all. Sorry you had a bad experience.

My experiences with BladeHQ have been positive. The first time I ordered a knife was about 5 years ago I think. It was a Spyderco Native. It arrived really fast and I was packed very well. Since then, I've ordered a lot of knives ranging from Emerson, ProTech, Benchmade, Spyderco, ZT, and have never had anything go wrong. I did have a concern, and my email was replied to quickly by Jake.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Some Boker knives are not the top of the line in quality from what I've seen.
