ORDERS ARE CLOSED! 2023 BladeForums.com Traditional Knife.

Why would you need to use alcohol? Just wipe the excess oil from blade (or where ever) with a soft cloth or a paper towel....
My initial intent was just flushing the grit out of the back spring.
Anything else was just a bonus.
And now that it's clean with one drop of oil on the joints this user will never be clean again. Just like a fresh start to make it mine.

I got a pretty cool number. :)

Number 455 got here yesterday. What a beautiful, well-made knife it is. It came stupid dull though. I'm not sure if that's the norm for GECs because this is only my second one ever & the first one I got was a user-gift from a member here. Anyways I put it on the WS precision adjust & got a nice edge on it in about 15 min. Liked the cool stickers & BF button that came with it too. Thanks a bunch, Spark & everyone who had a part in this! Here's some crappy pictures. I wish I could take pics like a lot of you guys here.

Oooohhh...GM big blocks representin!

I've noticed that some receiving higher serial numbered knives are mentioning dull to stupid dull blades. Perhaps the person doing the sharpening was tiring at the end. The blades on mine are acceptably sharp but not scary sharp. Certainly not as sharp as the tongue on my first wife.

After over a month of patiently waiting, 414 finally arrived in the mail yesterday. I was working late and made sure to have my lady secure the package. It was waiting on my desk last night for it to be giddily unpacked by me. I own a couple of slip joints, but this is my first GEC, and wow what a knife. Scales are beautiful, great pull on both blades, and I love the warncliffe style of the main blade. Also love the cool bladeforums swag. Although I’m no BF veteran, I started delving into this site about 5 years ago, so while celebrating 25 years of the forum, I’m celebrating 5 years of becoming more interested and educated in the hobby. Thank you spark for making this all happen!

519 landed. Beautiful. First GEC. Way better than a Case. So was Rough Ryder though. This has got a lot of spirit, however. The bump reminds me of old coffin handles. Really fits great in hand. The yarn written on the tube had me laughing. Not a lot of edge unfortunately but being 1095, can fix easily. Will be a pretty user!
