Oregon Knife Collectors Association Knife Show April 13th - 14th Eugene, Or

Saw an add for the show in the February issue of Blade Magazine. Anyone have plans on attending. What say you Charlie waynorth waynorth ? I just might make it this year.
You decided whether or not you will get there this year?

Have two tables but still need to book a room.
Do you have a table number yet?

Counting down the days, five more sleeps and I will be on my way.

Hope you get there, Ed!!! I'll be there - at table U-2!!!
I'll have a bunch of GECs for sale this year!! Too bad GEC/Joan Mae won't be there this year!!

Just a little heads up!

I’ll be doing a little something for the members of BladeForums and the Spyderco Forums at the show. So swing by for a minute with your screen name if you get a chance!

No. I won’t tell you why. šŸ˜‚

I’m hoping to make it one of these years. I’ve never been to a knife show and it sounds like such a fun time. It would be so cool to meet so many of you. A bit of a trip from Sacramento but maybe next year I’ll make it.

Had a great first day in Eugene today. I got to meet waynorth waynorth and Rhidian Rhidian and was able to chat with them both for a bit. I met several other folks as well, some of whom I know are on BF, but I won’t try to list ā€˜em all in case I accidentally leave someone out! We spent pretty much the whole day at the show, so I made several passes around the room throughout the day and picked up a couple interesting things. I also missed out on a big Opinel No. 13 that I’m sort of kicking myself over; it would’ve paired nicely with the two little No. 3s I found. The hobo knife is a Western States, and the one below it is a William Rodgers with an interesting Lambsfoot/spey combo. The hat was a gift from Charlie — thanks again!

I’m looking forward to another day at the show tomorrow, and hopefully meeting a few other BF folks who couldn’t make it Friday but will be there Saturday.

Indeed, I had a great time too. It was fun meeting you and congratulations on the knife purchases. You found some good ones!

Come on you guys at the show, please post photos of the happenings!! Those of us who cannot travel so far would love to see photos of our friends from the porch, table photographs, and crowd scenes. Would someone please post. photograph of Charlie’s waynorth waynorth , so I can cry over what I am missing.

It was nice to meet you today btb01 btb01 , thanks for introducing yourself. I'll try to write a better post about the show myself soon.

No table assignment just yet. I should probably inquire about that.

I’m pretty stoked to meet you, and other forumites in person! I’ll have more wood and Micarta/phenolic than you can shake a stick at. šŸ˜‚

I hope it’s a micarta stick. šŸ˜†

Last day of the show!

Sorry guys (and gals)! The wifey is home with the sick kiddo, so I’m running the table solo this time. I haven’t had much time to check BF (or take pictures for that matter), but I’ll catch up when I get home.

So far, the show has been a blast! The knives are amazing, of course…. But the conversation! Just wow. Absolutely superlative company.

First, a little shot to show you the scope of the show (not my pic).

Friday night, waynorth waynorth , knowtracks knowtracks , kershawguy kershawguy , Rhidian Rhidian , gunstockjack gunstockjack , myself, and a more (I think there were thirteen of us!) went out to a wonderful steak dinner. Many fantastic conversations were had!

You may recognize a few of these handsome gents. :)

The legend, Mr. Ed Schemp himself! Holding the ELEVEN 1ā€ thick pieces rope he managed to cut with a single swipe! He is hilarious. Trying to separate the myth from reality is impossible. šŸ˜‚

I ran into H herder and had some great conversation with him. Of course I had to grab Neal’s book on Boker’s when I saw one for sale!

Our boy, Rhidian Rhidian won himself a few awards!

Gotta throw in a shot of my table, of course. šŸ˜‚

Charlie gifted me with one of his excellent hats!

And I’m lucky enough to get to go home with this little beauty!

All in all, it has been an overwhelmingly magnificent experience! It’s be my absolute pleasure to meet to many of you at the show!
