OT : Flashlights

I have been wanting to get one or two nice flashlights for a while. I know absolutely nothing about them. I usually go into walmart and ooh & ahh over what they have hanging in the camping section if that tells you anything :jerkit: .

What are some good websites for research on whats good and why it's good?

candlepowerforums.com

you can waste more time there than you can here --- but a great bunch of guys -- nice to newbies too ;)

I think I remember reading about that big yellow thing over in CPF... does not that thing put out about 10,000

HDS U60 (x2), VB-16 TXOJ HA-III and turbohead attachment, Fenix L1T/L2T/E0, Gerber Infinity Ultra (x2, one is red led), Lightwave 3000/4000, (others not worth mention).

Love the U60.. I can't imagine a more feature-packed edc light.

E0 is a great, miniscule, AAA backup (for those who like the Arc AAAx line, take a look!). IMHO, Fenix has a great lineup for the budget-conscious knife-collector that wants a very competent light.

Gladius, by Night-Ops, has some killer deals out now, btw.
If I wasn't saving for an FBM, I would snatch one of those! (well.. if it took rechargeables..)

Never owned a SureFire, but the Kl4/Kl1 bezel's have been catching my eye..
McLux?...

FlashlightReviews and CPF are excellent resources, for anyone beginning their quest in cleaving the darkness.
LightHound gets a worldwide thumbs up on CPF, btw, for whoever asked.
4Sevens is the undisputed Fenix king.

I just bought this one a couple of days ago, it's my first "real" flashlight. Inova T1. I'm impressed by it. I have a SF G2 on order and should have it in a couple of days. I hope that's plenty.

My newest is a Surfire U2. I love that little thing and it has currently replaced my last favorite... A Surefire M2. :D

Also have a Surefire M4... The "CSI" light, with the crenulated bezel, and an M6, the MONSTER 6, LOL I know 'Skunk has one of these bad boys, too!.

New topic to me so I guess I'll post.

I carry a Blackhawk Night Ops Gladius. I like the multiple settings and the adjustable intensity. The disorienting strobe feature is pretty neat and may even serve a purpose. The light is a bit too large though as it is hard to find a soft pouch that will fit it. This isn't really a complaint about the flashlight though, but rather about the sizes of pouches on the market.

What brand holster is that and is it comfortable? I need a IWB one for my STI LS9.

I picked up a couple of Fenix P1D CEs and they are friggin awesome. 135 lumens from a 123a x 1 light with a cree LED. ou can't go wrong with one of these.

I have several INOVA's. They are great lights. I once dropped my T3 on its face and broke the glass lens. I emailed them, sent it in and they sent me a brand new one a week later. I was very pleased.
I also have a couple X5s in the different colors. Those are a great flood light with excellent battery life.

I ordered one of these for my buddy before he shipped out to Iraq with the Marines. He said he absolutely loves it. When I ordered it, it came with the holster. I haven't seen it myself yet though. But he gives it a  . There are some cool videos of it on their website.

Hey, buddy... ;) :D ...Ya got a light??!!!
Sorry, couldn't resist, You got one heckuva nice bunch o' shiners there!:thumbup: :D

It is a very cool light and very military-oriented. Mine came with the plastic holster that I'm not crazy about. I'd like to have a soft pouch with MOLLE attachments in ACU digital. None I've found so far are the right size. In the meantime, I just hitch the lanyard to my belt loop and put the light in my pocket.
