OT: Folders (again)

Hunting for a folder is more difficult that hunting for fixed blades for me. But you guys have given me plenty of leads to check out. Thanks.

PM me your address and I'll box it up for you. I've got the clip set up for lefty right now but I can swap it before I send it. It's a big mother...4.5" blade.

How far are you from Plaza Cutlery Tyrkon? Its one of the bigger knife stores in SoCal.

I am about 1hr. from it. I actually grew up in Santa Ana and lived just 5 miles from it. I used to bug Dan in there all the time when I was a kid. They seem to be a bit pricey. :( but I go there to try out various knives in person. :D

I just wanted to thank everyone for the input. I never realized how high the bar has been raised in the last 10 years regarding folders. I had a few Sebbies pop up but the timing was wrong. Lots of great offers from you guys to to let me try out various knives. That's one of the reasons this is such a great place. I ended up getting a CK&T Bengal Karambit from one of our own. I'll still be looking for a straight blade but I think I will save up for an XM-18. Yes, I singed up on the outrageously long waiting list. :(

But so far this Kbit is awesome. Excellent fit and finish. Beefy frame lock. Brings out the Silat in me. Now I'll have to break out the short knife dvds I made with a group of friends a few years back. ;)

Here is a quick review on the kbit:

Thanks again guys. :)

Well, Tyr, hopefully your wait for the XM won't be too much longer. As soon as it comes back from Rick, I'm gonna snap a few pics and then it'll be on it's way to you.

(Hopefully it shows before Thursday so I can get it out. Camping in Maine for 5 days!:D:D )

I know you are going to Moosehead Lake but if you feel like taking a day trip over to Andover for some INFI show and tell just let me know.
I could possibly also meet you part way and bring a few.
Shoot me a PM or email if interested.

Are any of you guys/gals familiar with the linear slider lock on the Kershaw ZT0500 MUDD knife? Good? Bad?

Thanks.

If you want a hard use EDC folder, get a ZT300, can't beat them!

If it is the same as on the R.A.M., I love it, it is easy to use and solid!

+1 on the Presidio. Awesome blade, tough lock, nice aluminum handle. Cant go wrong for around $100. I have both the manual and auto. Spyderco delica or endura are big favs of mine too. Cheap and reliable. Sharp as S@#T!!!! I dont like liner locks too much but my good old Vic OHT is sweet as well but I doubt thats what your thinking of.
