OT: Gear and Tools Used by SURVIVORS!

Hey that looks like a sweet day pack, what a nice gift! Looking forward to your thoughts on it.

My goal is to really get out more this summer, spring tends to be the busiest time of year with work. The way reviewers would smile to themselves as they talked about this pack I almost expected wearing to feel like Adriana Lima was gently hugging me from behind, but it just feels like a backpack. It does feel great though and it's definitely the most expensive pack I'll ever own. I really like it!

SN that does look like a beauty of a pack. I love that logo too! Local somewhere by you? I'd like to check one out.

Thanks!

I wish. Nearest Cabella's is a half hour away. Nobody closer than that sells anything good at all. This cutie was from amazon.

Nice bag SN! Is that the Dust?

Great shot with those maroon handles too!

How rude! I didn't introduce her! You know your bags, sir. Direct Action Gear Dust. Will edit my first post!

Haha! I've been eyeing a lightweight bag for hunting season and came across great reviews for those and the dragon egg. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it too! Also curious how the standard GSO clip works with their Molle system

I haven't weighed it, but other than the smaller size, the materials don't seem to make it super light weight. I was also looking at the Osprey daylite and the Mountainsmith clear creek and those really seemed designed to cut weight. This one is definitely sturdy........ at least by my standards, I'm not sure what you're used to.

As far as the clips and molle, I half heartedly did some wiggling, but there's no way the clip was going on attached to the sheath. I'd have to remove the clip, finagle it in there and screw the sheath on. I was almost afraid I'd damage the molle because with standard molle there is a thin strip of stitching separating the molle into the loops. With this stuff there is wider spaces between the laser cutting so the slot in the sheath clip loops won't slide in. Does that make any sense without having done it yourself?

Wow that's a great looking pack Silver!!
There's always time to go full commando!
Hahahaha!!! I need to watch what I type around you ;)

That's a NICE bag SN...congrats! I LOVE the paracord handle, what a great idea! I am going to have to make one of these for my bags. Do you know what kind of weave that is? I am very jealous!!!

Thanks! I'm really happy with it. I know this will be the nicest bags I'll ever use, so I'm really enjoying the little details and features that separate it from my usual Condor brand.

Anyways, I hadn't seen anything about the name of the weave, but here are some closer pics. Let me know if you want a different angle!

Thanks for the photos!! That looks like a cobra weave.

FYI, my wife is mad at you (well, actually shes made at me but your bag gave me the inspiration!), I went out and bout a 5.11 bag yesterday after seeing your post!!

Hahaha, that's great! You'll have something to store all your gear for your stay in the dog house :D

Which bag did you get?

Very true!!! I got the 5.11 Rush72. I have an old Maxpedition 50+L bag but it's not padded or has any framing/support. It's not comfortable under load. After I read about Standard's bag I started looking for a 3 day bag for giggles. After seeing your I decided to bite the bullet and get the Rush 72.

Haha lighter than my main hauler the redcloud 90 :) Looking more for a smaller satellite pack to ride with for essentials when away from camp.

That's kind of what I figured, but wouldn't be a deal breaker if the internal organization makes sense. The other would be whether it'd fit a 3L hydration bladder.

I really Love the Swamp Rat Vex, but my 4.7 cru forge V has replaced it for EDC ;)
Both are close in price, but the 4.7 is amazingly comfortable and holds an edge very well.
Can't wait for my 3V 4.7 :)

I had a feeling you knew what you were talking about and know what you're looking for ;)

I'll see if I can find a good link on the Dust.

Can't wait for my 3V 4.7 :)
Agreed X 1,000,000!!!!!

How about the redclouds baby brother? I love mine, I sold a Mystery Ranch 3 Day Assault, and a sweat pea and replaced them with this.
