OK...I promise this is my last philosophy thread for a while...

IF God created all things...Did he create anger?

Anger comes as a free choice...........

It is your when you choose it.........

A buddist monk once said...........you live in this world............

It is your choice to live and see anything you see as you like...........

To happy or not happy..............It is your choice.........or your perception of it.........

I don't know, but I sure am glad you are here and asking questions.
Anger is a destroyer. Rightieous anger a propulsion. Humor is the back hand to anger; they are the brothers....but then, there is Joy, and it knows both hard times and soft to come about.

Hey Shane............keep it coming man !

Anger must be there to balance out things. Many of our founding fathers saw God as a watchmaker. He created one giant mechanical gizmo, pulled the stop pin, and watched. Anger is merely a cog in the machine. When your minute hand stops moving on your watch it is not the hand that has the problem. It's the small series of wheels that turn it from behind. Anger must be there to show the virtues of peacefulness. We have the choice to be angry or not. The freedom to just live is one of the things that we as post-industrial humans are so fundimentally brainwashed into ignoring. Sometimes I think God is up there just yelling down at us "It's OK! It's not a test or contest! Be happy and enjoy it! You'll have the next 200 billion years to look back at this time you are wasting now. Just act like you oughta. I love you!" Anger is a gift in a way. It's an emotion. Part of the rollercoaster of life. Anger really has the same physiological effects on the body as intense puppy love. The blood pressure rises, your hair stands on end, your heart races, your face becomes flush. There is a time to get angry. We talk about doing what is right. Sometimes you must get angry to do what it is right. You must be upset with something in order to rise up against it.

Somebody said once that asking questions is a sign of weakness...

So maybe these philosophy threads are just that...

Anger has always been a curiosity.

The line of logic follows....God created all things. God created man in his own image. Which, as I read it, means we are a blueprint of God's design....

If that is so...then Anger must be a a part of us...given to us by God...

God can be angry...Man can be angry. Both have the choice whether to avert angry feelings....So if both have the same choices...does that mean anger is a perfect emotion?

God can also love, as can man, and both have the choice to disregard it. If anger is perfect, so is love.

Anger is another part of the human experience. It can be a weakness or a strength, depending on how you choose to utilize it - just as any other emotion can be.

All emotions are valuable. When they go away, life becomes a lot less fun.

Anger is what keeps people honest. It's that one thing you always have to account for...that no matter how superior your position, someone who is pushed too far or treated too poorly will fight back no matter what their odds of success or potential loss.

People aren't gracious winners out of the goodness of their hearts.

Perfect emotion...

I guess I was raised to believe is perfect....and that the Bible was God's word.

Try as I might to understand it, the contradictory nature of faith and belief seem to collide.THe older I have become the harder it has been to get into the logic loop that seems to collapse when applied to reason.

I had a lady tell me to believe as a child does...to give up reason and just believe...

Well...child or no there's so much stuff in the Bible that contradicts itself...how the Hell are you supposed to use it as a guide for life...if they can't even get it straight. And these are guys who were either hearing God one on one...or heard Christ speak...in person. How's a lousy bastard like me sposed to know by just bumping around in the dark.

So people tell you...Anger is a negative emotion...it is destructive...it leads to damnation...yada yada...

If that is true...then why did God create it?

Think about that, Can God get angry? IF so, we are in huge trouble!

The most common example most people use is Jesus bashing the money changers and other no goods around the Temple. But if you read it carefully, you will see that He actually sat down first and braided a whip. He did not just charge in there.

There is a huge difference between anger and passion. My karate teacher once told me, "ALWAYS fight with Passion. NEVER fight with anger. If you fight with anger, you will lose even if you win the fight."

I had to think about that last part a while.....

You are pondering a simple inconsistancy- two things which seem opposed?

A life is full. There is a range of emotion. We are made in His image, the Bible says. We must deal with ourselves. We make decisions.

Good Fellow- you are a delight to have around. I wish I could better understand what you are thinking.

"Be angry and sin not." (The Authorized Version says "Be ye angry, and sin not.") This is Eph 4:26. A little while later, though, we read: Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

So, I dunno.

Hey, who keeps tricking me into quoting Bible verses?! :foot: :D

Not me, Spectre, but I sure appreciate the scholarship.

When I was 17 I thought the Bible an Old Man's Book, crusty, vengful, labored, stilted and guilt nourishing. When I was 31, and looked into it again, I was stunned by much that was wise beyond what I knew men could write alone.

I believe, now and in the past, most 'problems' with the Bible have to do with the men reading and interpreting it.

I remember that guy, but can't recall his name. He also said real men never cry.

Love and hate are the same feelings:
You love somebody in the same way you can kill that body.
Love and hate{anger} there are on the same track.
Life and death are the same things on strange direction
part of the same circle.

plan no useless move, take no step in vain.
