HOGS--- Who makes a decent .22 stainless steel semi-auto rifle?
Thanks.

Savage AcuTrigger Savage is the only way to go!! Bolt or semi auto
Usuall either for less than $350.00 new
Or, of course a Ruger 10/22

check out the colt m4 22lr...thing is bada$$

I like the S&W version better.

If I wanted an accurate, cheap semi .22 plinker with great versatility, i'd pick up a ruger 10/22. That was also my first rifle as a kid.

Does the Ruger come in SS?

With the new Ruger 10/22 variants available, what doesn't the 10/22 come in?:)

My dad has a 10/22 which I shot years ago. It seems to be the benchmark for all other semi auto .22s. I recently got a Savage .17 hmr that I really like shooting. I think something similar is available for .22 cal also. However, if I were to buy a .22 (which I hopefully will in the not too distant future) it would most likely be a Ruger 10/22. To me, semi auto is the way to go for a .22 cal.

This will be a plinker. The Boy will be ready to shoot soon.

Go bolt, Marlin 980S, or 915S...none better for a starter IMHO.

When he graduates a great bolt action .22 get him a 795, 60, or 10/22.

I agree, if its a first rifle for a young kid, go bolt, or single shot. Graduate to a semi auto.

Springfield Armory Scout - .22 and .410 combo

A great beginner or other

Pure .22? The Ruger 10/22 is tough to beat for the money, and the perfect size too. Dad can also add some really cool aftermarket goodies later on

Ruger 10/22 is the way to go for semi auto. I have a browning t-bolt that right out of the box shot dime sized groups at 50 yards with cci green box ammo.
