OT - Watches !!

(of course i in no way intended to minimize the destruction and suffering from katrina):)

Agree, I suffered from the 1989 Earthquake here to the tune of about $240,000 so I don't mean to minimzie what those people may be going through. I was out of the home I owned at that time for 20 months.

Here is the one I have had on nearly every day over the past 12 years or so.

yeah, my house was damaged in the 94 northridge quake. i also knew a family that lost a father and son when the northridge meadows apartments collapsed. again, it was a funny comment, no insensitivity intended.

As I said in another post somewhere I had not serviced the watch for maybe 8 years and then flipped a canoe while fishing and spent a long time in a lake. When I got out this watch was full of water. It turns out that the seals were too old to still be water proof.

When I sent it in for repair I had the case and band polished, they did a great job! So now it has only four years on it, I’m also more careful with it than I use to be. :o

I know this is an old thread, but I've been swamped lately and haven't had much time to post and lurk around BF :p I love watches like I love Busse's :D so what's everyone sport on their wrists now?

I'm at:

Top shelf:
Omega Speedmaster
Omega Seamaster Chrono (:D has the Valjoux 25J 7750 love the way that thing spins!!!)
Ventura Kinetic
IWC Mark XV Pilot (the smaller version with the modified ETA 2892...42mm, not the large....that thing's worth as much as my car :p)

My other watches are:
Seiko Monster
Nixon Diver
Citizen Eco Drive Titanium
Seiko 5 Military (Sweet auto at a bargain price....I've been wearing it to work, fits under a glove nicely)

On my wrist now is a ETA-2824.....sweet watch! "ducci introduced me to it.

I've seen some people with incredible knife collections here :D I'd wager there's some equally impressive watches out there :)

.
I have a few lyimg around,

Omega Seamaster Chrono/chronometer
'69 Omega Speedmaster "Moon Watch"
Omega day/date
IWC

:D

Valjoux 7751....that thing must be a wallet crusher to have serviced  What's the service costs like from Omega...or do you have someone else do it for you?

all I got left is my ti seamaster, had to sell my precious sapphire sandwich !!

seamaster is bombproof and I had to choose one

For sure!!! What movement do you have? I was amazed when I started looking up the callibers and seeing what movt's were modified to make them :D.

I think my two favorite watches are the Seamaster and the Speedmaster......with the Franck Muller Transamerica Chronograph being my dream watch :D look that one up, it's a pretty one!

I haven't handled one of the ti ones yet....I really like the weight of mine though, it's reasurring. Makes it seem.....vault like.

You're going to be SOOOO stoked with that watch. Omega makes a bulletproof automatic. It's a beefcake of a watch too :D. I've got an old wind of of my Grandpa's that's a Seiko wind up and it still keeps time :p though it drifts around 4 minutes a day. I believe it's from the 60's though. My dad's got an old seiko auto that's still kickin. You just wear them till they break and then replace. Though you'll probably be getting another watch LOOOONG before they stop on you!

Wow, a lotta good stuff here that are out of my league
Can I use these to change for your Rolexy~ :D
