OT, XM-18 passaround

An update on this:

The knife is packaged and being sent to Rick today to get her back into shape for the passaround. All the people that expressed intrest in this thread are in on the passaround (unless you decide you don't want to, in which case, let me know). No new additions will be added in this passaround. If more people are interested and decide they want to do it, maybe we can start up a second round after this one. :thumbup:

I will make a post when I get the knife back from Rick, where I'll lay down any pertinent info, and we'll get this thing going. I hope to get the knife started on it's way to Tyrkon maybe by next week. Depends on Rick's schedule, and when I receive the knife back from him. Feel free to post/pm/email me if anyone has any questions. Thanks guys! :D

Love to try the flipper, but didn't post, as many are gonna be interested,and I have a regular version; so can those who get in on this passaround give much feedback to the flipper aspect if they could, please? :D:thumbup: I'd really appreciate it, thanxx in advance!

I dont think he is taking any new orders at this time, the only way to get them is through dealers and people selling theirs.

gimmejr, you are correct, sir. No orders at this time, but, I do think he is still making an exception for, and still taking orders from currently active military, police, EMT and fire personnel.

I am on the list, LOL, for "The List"... If he hasn't forgotten about me! :eek: But it's gonna be awhile!! LMAO, but worth it. I want a flipper, and another folder in S20V. :thumbup: :D
 
I wish we could get a passaround on an Airkat TORKNVTR. Ricks blades are supersweet, but the Airkats keep drawing me in.

What about teachers in Los Angeles, CA. We have to have something to even the odds. Plus, my AK is getting hard to hide in my lap top case. :p

I have found a few of his dealers and jumped on their waiting lists. But they were laughing when I asked how long the list was.:confused:

Update: I recieved the knife back from Rick today, and it looks brandy-new. :thumbup: It'll go out hopefully tomorrow if I get Tyrkon's addy. I don't have my camera with me today, so I need to take some pics when I get home. The list and the rules will be as follows.

Rules are pretty simple. You agree that you are over 18 and that it's legal to posses this knife where you live. You agree to keep the knife for 7-10 days, then send it USPS with delivery confirmation and insured for $500 to the next person on the list. Also, take pics and document if there are any problems or issues with the knife. (A review would be awesome too :D )

When your 7-10 days is up and you're ready to send the knife, email me and I'll make sure the next person on the list is ready to accept the knife. Then I'll give you their shipping address and email. The ball is now rolling guys. Sorry for the wait, but I think it'll be worth it. :)

I want to mention too, please don't feel the need to really baby the knife. It's not a safe queen, and I use it like I would any other knife. All I ask is that you don't intentionally abuse it. By that I mean no cinder block chopping or shooting it! :D Please put it through it's paces though. I want everyone to get a feel for what this knife can do well, and can't do well. If it needs sharpening, and you feel competant enough to do it, go right ahead. No problem by me, but I do ask that you don't change the bevel angles. I'd like to keep it factory so to speak, so everyone can see how they come from Rick.

I plan on thinning the edge down some when I get it back, just because of personal preferance and I'd like to make it a better slicer, but I'd like to keep it the same as it is for the passaround.

Other than that, take it apart, clean it up, strop it, whatever you want. I trust your judgement....... (I think..:eek: ;) )
