Our friends need our smoke and prayers, see who need your good vibes here.

Glad to hear he's pulling thru, but man, I hate hospitals. Just reading gets me wound up, and lately it's been every week with someone I know.

Sorry I didn't post this last night, I'm sure some of you have heard this from Heather but I wanted to put it here so you folks can follow it.

As of yesterday about 5pm...

The tracheotomy is done. He looks sooo much more comfortable. He's going to rest the rest of the day and night. Doc said tomorrow he will work on lowering his sedation and his dependency on the ventilator but this time instead of pushing him were going to take it very slow and day by day.

Dad is doing good. They gave him some ativan to keep him calm and keep him from going into his hulk rages. He's not fighting them near like he was. He is doing the breathing on his own again and the ventilator is there for support

Thanks for passing on the good news Ted.
Glad to hear forward progress is being made. I was literally holding my breath with the updates.

Thanks Ted, that's an improvement and that's what we've been praying for, good news.

Great to hear such an encouraging update! Strength and caring on the way ...

Jennifer has just told me, physical therapy had him sitting up today, and doc's will try to remove the ventilator completely for a trac O2 feed. Keep the hope.

Dad is doing good. Physical therapy had him sitting on the side of the bed for 15 minutes. He did need some help staying sitting up because he's wobbly. He's doing so much better on the trach. They've got the ventilator turned down a lot and here this afternoon they will be unhooking the ventilator and just putting oxygen over the trach. Its what they call a trach mask.

Keep the smoke and prayers comin'. :)
