Good one F.O. that is about what I look like. Had my Wife call our "new" dentist. She wants $850.00 for a crown...... Yeah - No.

I'll stick with my old guy.
 
Unfortunately that sounds about right, damn for that much money you could buy two XMs. Good luck!

BTW you might want to reserve one of these condos.

Holy smokes ..... I really served myself up on this one :).

Yeah, I'm kicking my own "A" - it was probably destined to happen but it still was an "Ahh Sheet" when I bit down on an "optional snack" . Bad habit did it a thousand times before going after that stuck piece that never comes out of the Brazil nut and "pop" my tooth lost that round.

- UPDATE- ....... I post this for the Benefit of those who may experience this.... BEWARE.

I had several Dentists hard selling me on getting my front tooth capped over the years. I had a root canal when I was like 10 years old and as is often the case the tooth had darkened over the years. Despite this I remained exceedingly handsome and simply chalked it up as a conversation issue :) jk, not really conversation material.
Anyway, the tooth had started to become brittle as well, breaking was a "when" not "IF" proposition in any case "Caps" are EXPENSIVE. Fillings are not what send Dentist kids to College - "Caps" DO.

So, No-No-No to ALL the money grubbing whores over the years trying to get the Mercedes downpayment covered by my mouth.

This week, "Pop" goes the tooth. Wife calls MGW Dentist BUT I call my 71 year old "good guy" Dentist.

$175 later and about an hour after I "presented" my situation to him - I have a perfect tooth again, MINE..... NOT "capped" and I'll get about half that back from insurance so, $85-$90. Still an expensive snack but ALL better and I wasn't on vacation when it happened so, I got lucky IMO.

Bottom Line: Don't fall for the "You need a crown" pitch. You may Not NEED one. I'm not sure How/What "Doc" did but my tooth is better than new and looks great.
Best yet - It's MINE.
 
Rubi......I'm really curious as to how your dentist managed to reattach a tooth.......

I'm really glad it's back.......but it makes me think of a book I read once......Pet Sematary.......by Stephen King.......the moral of the story was that no matter how much you want them to......not all things should come back........:D
 
Ha! Good movie. The tooth fractured and broke a fairly good size portion off in a jagged fashion (worse in back) but in front looked like a Four pane window lost its lower left pane of glass. I could fit my tongue sideways completely in the gap and it made it exceedingly difficult to talk w/o a lisp.
Try to keep your tongue away from these types of things is like wrestling a two year old away from a puppy carrying a candy bar.

I imagine it was a "bonding" process. He put a form around the tooth and commenced to building it back periodically using a laser to cure the material and then removed the form and shaped the tooth with another laser.
Looks and feels great. As I said, the tooth was failing slowly so it really is better now than it was.
It's good as new.

So anyway..... Boys and girls. Brush and floss and avoid sweets and..... Ignore what I just said, just have a good Dentist,, lots of money,, and a taste for vodka or bourbon.


This sucks.... I'm soaking in my Hot Tub and the beer is in my workshop. Little help?…..…....Hello........?

I hate it when a plan doesn't come together.......
You should have made sure one of the kids was at home first........or strapped a "survival 6-pack" to Pete or Mason........
 
Two just left to go back to school, ....... God I hate this. I blame my Wife.
I never used to be emotional. Gettin' drunk tonight and blaming it on my tooth.

That works.
 
Rubi I have heard, never experienced this of course, that Jack Daniels enhances the effect of novacane.
Also a little company may help especially if your friend can help with blowing bubbles!

All seriousness that is Me in My Oldest Brothers Wedding 1969 One (1) week before he went to Viet Nam..... those were tough days.

Every Man in my Family served and my Son just was awarded an ROTC scholarship (ARMY) and accepted - Very Proud.

 
Thank You N2K (M) My Love and respect for the Mentors God blessed me with is boundless... I was very very fortunate as a yound Man to have so many Great Men and Women who served as Role Models - I Wish Every Yound Person was as blessed.

Then when I went Active Duty - My Good Fortune continued.... Wow, what a ride :) I say hank You
