Our "Front Porch" ....

(Imagine jaw dropping)

You used to live in Ontario.......??? Wow......!!!

This is Brandy Lake up near Port Carling in Muskoka..........awesome place to be...........but Friday and Sunday traffic to get there and back is a killer.......I spent a year there once and the winters are actually just as awesome as the summer......and talk about quiet......
The parties up there were EPIC.......and not so quiet........at least the ones I can fully remember.......

Yep, a L O N G time ago..... late 70's. Vietnam had ended and High School graduation was a recent memory and as was the tradition back then a young man from very rural Pa. decided to go find himself when the future appeared to be somewhat of a question.
So, I hitch hiked to Canada. I just thought how that sounded, glad I mentioned Vietnam was over and so was the draft. I ended up Voluntarilty in the Army for many years later anyway so, I guess I'm good :)
Anyway, worked on the docks for my meals, (room& board as they say) fell in love (HaHa) she broke my heart those damn Canadian Women !!
Still remember her name, No, I won't mention it here - you never know who knows who.
Newboro, Ontario was once - Home. I went back and visited there just a couple yeras ago. That was fun.

Seems so quiet on the forum these days........

<crickets>

Yup.....pretty quiet.......

These aren't the droids you're looking for..........move along........

Yes. Show and Holidays.... Everybody has to contribute to keep things fresh and interesting. We all enjoy the activity.

N2K......R2 has seen better days.....I actually found him and his buddy there a few days ago when I was packing some stuff up.......

So did you make it out the NYCKS.......I know you like to hit the shows from time to time........

Toys are a very popular collectible that I bet many knife nuts had as a hobby at one point.

As for shows...if you were asking me...lately it's far more want/wish than actually attend. Hoping to fix that in 2015 and beyond.

Oh......I'm just hittin' my 40's and I still enjoy (selected) toys.......and I pick up the odd Star Wars piece (or toy I desperately wanted when I was a kid but never had) from time to time........helps keep life fun........

I was determined to go to my first knife show this year.......but events and life conspired against that........so I will make the same resolution for 2015 but actually do it........so many people I "know" but have never met..........maybe I'll even get to meet Rubi and see the famous "Got Ammo" T-Shirt in person........

Busse Ganza crashed the forum...didn't mean to leave ya hangin'.

There's a photo theme thread here somewhere where I posted many XMs w/ toys photos over the last couple years.

N2K......no worries.......

I like to check out that thread......I'll see if I can hunt it down tomorrow......

Nice driod/XM pic! I have a couple Star Wars figures, don't know if they have shown up in a pic yet, might have to make that happen.

I missed the Ganza? Oh well, at least I have one, and the one I want.

I have been busy too, working, holiday prep, and tracking down bike parts. I would mention that winter has hit, along with a fun rain-sleet-snow combo we had a couple days ago, but that fails in comparison to what NY had!

The bike I initially disassembled to strip the paint now has a brushed alum finish with black decals (decals that I waited at least a month for, but they are quality reproductions), but it is too cold to clear coat, so that one is gonna sit for a while. :( The bike that just sort of "happened", thanks to Brian - alwayscarryaknife, is complete, and really turned out great, looks and performance.

I also went for quite a while before the knife bug hit again. My uncle gave me a "gun show switchblade" that he bought quite a few years ago. Well, that just made me want a real side opening auto (already have an OTF MT Combat Troodon) so I bought a Benchmade 9051SBK. Kinda looks like my SWAT...

Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!

Nice post BT, BTW I was starting to get that Zurich SWAT pushed way back in my brain, sort of like a song you hear it and then for some ridiculous reason you hum the tune all day and can't stop humming, well now that Black SWAT has moved front and center!

LOL, good analogy! SWAT goodness, full attention required! :D

Oh, and on that crappy weather day was also the same day I put the GTO on wheel dollies and put her in the corner. Saturday will be final cleaning and the cover goes on. :(

To make matters worse, my mom decided to upgrade her EcoBoost Fusion, and made me jealous. She got a new SS! Said her Fusion was too slow, and the climate control "buttons" were a pain. The SS is one helluva car.

Hi All,

It has been a while since I have been on. Life has taken me in a new direction and I am not constantly obsessing over knives anymore. Well I should say that I am not constantly obsessing over "new" knives anymore. I still only have my two Hinderers, a 3.5" wharncliffe and 3" slicer. I suppose when I got them I realized that I didn't need anything else. So I have been content with my two XM's and my HDS light. I am sure the itch will be back again when I find something I might want to buy/trade for and it starts the obsessing over the boards all over but for now, I am good. I do have to say, the new production grinds are sweet. I have been following the developments on Facebook. I hope all are well and I will try not to be so much of a stranger around here. Although, I can't really commit to that. My wife is due next week and it looks as if the baby may be here this week. My life is about to completely change!! Should be a good time though:)

Congrats!! Yes, I'd say life is indeed about to change. Hope to "see" you around if nothing else, sometimes this place is a good place to catch a breather.

Good to hear from you MR, good news indeed ! I'm sort of in the same situation regarding Hinderer purchases, I have a small herd and have my favorite user although there will always be room for a skinner or Bowie ! Best of luck to you and your wife !
