Outdoor survival blade under $60?

Try the beckers as many have already suggested. Or possibly something from Condor maybe. Hudson Bay? If you want to go smaller Varan/Rodan? Or the Garuda?

My current set-up is a large chopper (O'Katz parang, Big Chris Barong) with either a Mora or a Glock 81 on the belt.

Condor Rodan tang, very substantial, great knife, only caveat some people have is some feel the handle to be a little big/round. I have the Condor's Bushlore and love it dearly. I don't have the field pup but have the seal pup and find it to be a good knife.

Kinda, I'm very indecisive lol. I'm really leaning towards the buck nighthawk short. Carbon steel ain't me but if I go carbon I'll be a USMC ka bar or a condor of some sort.

I wouldn't worry about the carbon/stainless issue, just pick a tool you like and use it, if its carbon, wipe it down before storing and oil it occasionally. but anyway the 440c of a lot of buck knives is pretty awesome. i don't think it's a true stainless but it does seem to hold up to weather well. easy to sharpen as well.

I get a lot of good use out of the KA-BAR 1211 Fighting/Utility knife - it's always in the truck, unless I'm using it:

Mineral oil, a.k.a. baby oil, is edible and will rust-proof your blade. But seriously, don't worry about rust too much. I have a lot of carbon knives and axes; I don't oil them at all. I suppose if the knife and sheath get soaked, you make make a special effort, but in everyday use, the blade will develop a protective patina.

Baby oil is mineral oil with perfume added. Mineral oil is cheaper and "food grade."

The Ranger Assault Knife or "RAK" (to be said with suitable growl) is .19" thick 1095 with a pointed butt to stab Commies and Jihadists in the skull. I suppose it would not take too long to file the point off.

The sheath freaks commandos out because the knife rattles in the plastic liner, warning the Commie you plan on deanimating. $.10 worth of stick-on felt takes care of that if silent night maneuvers are in your program or you just can't stand the rattle. :o

It has a black coating which prevents light from reflecting, makes it harder to cut things, and prevents rust of all but the part most prone to rust damage (the edge). The coating can be sanded off.

Quality should be satisfactory. They have a warranty. It's a biggish company.
