Owning the kills initiative: October challenge

Made a little hike today, and set up these two, tried to make them as real as possible, using a small game trail to set them up and veg. to help funnel

Thanks man, that's the well-earned patina of nearly six decades. The only shiny part of the blades are the edges. I found that knife in a gun/antique shop and had to have it. :)

I've been working with smaller and smaller materials. This seems to help make the trigger more sensitive.

I'll Be feeding my self (hopefully) off deadfall quarry at the end of this week Consequentially I'll be carving a whole bunch of them...

Not a fail at all brother that;s the beauty of it you still probably made more figure 4's this month than you would have otherwise..

Crunch Time!
This last week has been crazy, so this last batch of traps is made up of leftover materials from previous traps, the triggers are short, but the traps function.

Time to count the traps to make sure I haven't missed any and have to carve some more under the wire!

Here is a big thanks to RescueRiley for putting this challenge together! It has given me a reason to look for more outdoor time this month, even though it looks like I spent it all on my deck from my pictures. I have some hikes planned to collect tinder for next month's challenge.
 
OK Folks the Tallies are in....
according to the original 27 deadfalls for the month of October.. only one person met that mark...by making 28 deadfalls as opposed to the 2 runner ups
Johng with 26 and myself with 25
I must say I'm thouroughly impressed with everyones performance and growth.. I think everyone involved has made tremendous progress towards "owning this skill"

I did not see it until just a couple of days ago, but I did make a figure 4 for the very first time, and I will make several more now until I have it down pat.
