Currently in stock at BHQ.
Just FYI, Spyderco has said many times that their primary goal with dlc is for "light discipline", and that in some instances, it can actually promote corrosion, as it will retain the corrosive agent, and/or hide it's progression... In my little bit of research (out of curiosity), it seems that you can get some pretty good corrosion protection with DLC, but it requires a thicker coating, and I suspect that would mess with tolerances too much...Cool, and the price isn't really that insane considering how expensive the steel is and how hard it is to work with. I wish they would start DLC coating it also, Maxamet is VERY rust prone and also VERY hard to finish (aside from stonewash, which is basically ceramic pieces smacking into the steel over and over again) so DLC would eliminate both these issues mostly.

Apparently, the "micro-porous" surface of DLC is good a retaining a corrosion-preventing agent, as well, but this is likely overlooked by many that assume the DLC is enough on its own...
So is this new Maxamet PM2 going to be a regular as has been said in this thread? or is it a limited edtion? Im curious as why there would be limited batching in what is to be a regular production knife. If the Blade is prone to rust etc, I cant imagine it the type of knife youd want sitting on the shelf for extened time...
Ordered today from BHQ,,, already have a shipping notice with tracking number.
Long wait for the PM2 Maxamet, I was not certain it would make release in 2017.
Regards,
FK
It's a regular production run. It's gonna be in limited supply until they can keep up with demand. But you can wait until whenever to get one if you wanted to wait.So is this new Maxamet PM2 going to be a regular as has been said in this thread? or is it a limited edtion?
