What makes you think it won't have the compression lock? From what I understand the prototype that they've displayed at various show has it.

I'm disappointed to read it's a shortened version and not a scaled down version. One that's 15-20% smaller (scaled down) would be just the ticket for a lot of folks.
Is that a dome headed D-bolt on the spine near the pivot...???

This looks very much like the new PM3The blade shape looks odd due to the rock formation in the picture. If you draw the lines straight it has the same blade shape as the PM2.

It will be smaller. I used PM3 as a placeholder, since no name has been announced.
