Para 3 in December CONFIRMED!

Now everyone who says that the PM2 is "huge" and "too large" can be happy again with something ~13% (read: slightly more than an inch or less overall) smaller. I can already hear the complaints about the oversized lanyard hole and 'wasted space'/lack of cutting edge because of the forward choil. Haha!! 😂

I doubt this is a Native as the angle of the blade spine in relation to the handle seems too acute. Regardless I'm intrigued to see what it is.

Have fun with this one. I'm still waiting for that compression lock, tip-up Military 2.
I dunno who would want a knife smaller than a PM2, but I guess there are folks out there.

I'm not interested either but I think there will be strong demand for it. Not as strong as the Para 2.

...this is so fantastic, can't wait to buy one, but I'll wait for some sprint/exclusive runs...omg some cutlery shoppe orange scales, or bento's blue...

For me I have been waiting for something like this for the past year or so. Ever since I have discovered that a knife the size of the Delica is the PERFECT everyday carry knife for me. I have been wanting blade with s30v and a compression lock. While I adore the PM2 it is a great work knife but not a great EDC as I like to carry smaller knives. I am going to buy at least 2 of these and see if they can knock out the Delica and small Inkosi for carry. I really think it has a good shot at it. But we will find out. Will be following this thread closely to see who will have the first shipment in.

I'm happy for everyone interested but I'll not be getting one. I have my favorites in all the sizes. (Native, Stretch, Pm2 and the king Military)

Not taking away from anyone else's enthusiasm though. I love that Spyderco listens to their fans.

I see this fitting in the place of my caly 3. The question for me is going to be thickness of carry.

I don't like the Miltarys because of the short blade to handle ratio.

Also I never use or need a lanyard hole. I don't know why they just don't remove that and make a balanced knife. Look at Shiros design.. they have a lot of cutting surface to gip ratio.

Also I won't own a knife with a finger choil. So my hope is that makers get with a good design (like the Shiros) and get as much blade out of the handle package. After all, isn't that why we carry folders instead of fixed blades?

Do you like Shiros?

:D

So are they going to keep the Para 2 in production? I know I had originally heard that this isnt going to take place of if but has anything changed since they ended up calling it a Para 3 which I thought they said they werent going to do because it isnt an 'updated' version of the PM2.

Enough with the tip down clip positioning right? They ruined the K2 with that as well.

I always understood it to be a different knife. Not a new generation of the Paramilitary. Just a smaller PM2. Not a Paramilitary 3, but a Para 3. Paramilitary line lives on independent of the Para 3.

I think?
