Sorry to hear of your loss tanglediver

The air bags didn't deploy. I hit it fairly hard, on the side, but I thought the airbags were still supposed to deploy with a side hit? Not sure. I'm a bit stiff, and headachy, but I'm gonna attempt to go to work.

So sorry about your cousin. 62 is too young.
Much appreciated gentlemen.

I swear, I have the worst freaking luck of anyone I've ever seen. Put my Jeep up for sale. Need to pay some bills. Had 5 inquiries about in the first 24 hours. Showed to a local farmer tonight. First showing. He loved it, and couldn't get over the condition of it, for it's age. He drove it, and still loved it. Got back to the garage, got out, and he smelled something...antifreeze. Never smelled it before. He opens the hood, and points out to me the head gasket was leaking. I had no idea. So now, there's another $1000 that I don't have, to sink into it before selling. Great, just great...

Look on the bright side - at least it is visibly leaking out and not invisibly down into the oil pan.

Any chance you can replace the head gaskets yourself?
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not that mechanically inclined.

See that Dubz your luck is changing:thumbsup:
Woo hoo, haha.

The wife and I were just discussing this over a nice plate of the wife's spaghetti. It's not like I have to come up with the money this instant. Nothing's really changed. It just would have lightened the load to sell it.

Dang Warrior, you have had a rough run. Hang in there brother.

I'm heading to Oklahoma City next week. Never been there before. Anything there are close by I especially need to see or do?

Haha, right? I'm not trying to have a pity party, but damn, it never ends.

My brother in law had that problem with a Ford Explorer. He was told that the antifreeze was so old it turn into an acid and ate the head gasket. He didn't want to spend the money at the time so he just changed the antifreeze and added stop leak. Got him by for over a year and then just traded it in. Might temporally get you by. In case you you may need to use it while you wait for a better time to get it fixed right.

Back in my day we would pour a can of black pepper into the radiator to stop leaks. Do any of you Mossybacks remember that trick?

Just a thought , maybe the head bolts just need tightening?
