Ok folks, my Maroon Canvas and Desert Bronze landed today, and it is a Good news/Bad news kind of thing.

Good news:
The pics do not do this coloration justice. In every pic I have seen, they look gold. But it is more of a black/gold, sort of like a shadowed gold. If you can't tell, it is hard to describe... On top of that, I love almost everything. Which brings us to the...

Bad news:
I wear an XL width glove and this doesn't fit my hand all that well. I can see an obvious hot spot/blister formation point. The location that the palm swell lands in, is just behind the center of my palm (pinky side). If I center it, my pointer wraps around the Talon hole.

This tells me that, to make this knife work the best, I need a choil mod... Or a Leaner Meaner...

Is.it just me, or does the black canvas seem darker than usual?

Looks almost like black paper

I would agree with this as well. It's almost as dark as my black G10.
See my post #543. The Satin is G10 and the BG is Canvas.

Mine looks like yours, very dark, less like nydude, his looks more like traditional canvas.

Interesting differences!
 
Picked mine up today! :D Haven't formed a complete opinion just yet, but I think I'm going to like these! :cool: As I suspected from Jerry's pics, I think I like the double-cut competition finish the best, which is why that one got the G10. Love the smaller tube fasteners too!!! :thumbsup:

You can really see the new machining pattern in the G10 on the last couple pics. It's interesting, more grippy without the hot spots from higher peaks and lower valleys.
 
Hmm, just noticed this. Don't recall mention of this anywhere else either. The rivets on the satin one are jeweled. Nice. :cool:

Ok! A few of you folks may recally post above, and the minor issue I stated (if not, it's right there for you...). I figured, the Least intrusive way of addressing this, was to knock the offending corner down a little.

While I was at it, I made the slight upswept curve leading to the little peak on the exposed tang disappear. It now has a gentle and gradual drop to the rear peak. Add in the softened corners on the micarta, means this is now (near) perfect for my XL width hands. I can now hang my hand back a slight bit to center the palm swell, and not have the butt of the handle dig into the heel of my palm. Making the knife carry how it feels like it was designed to.

The pencil line was factory. Not much was removed, but it makes a world of a difference. The line connecting the drop from the palm swell to rear peak looks like material was removed, but it is just the coating. The line is showing moreso due to the angle of the pic.

I used two files, and some sand paper (400, 1k), and it took me about 20-25 mins. Making sure I went slow and got it where I wanted.

That's how to get it done! I got mine out after reading your earlier post and just wasn't seeing it for me, all in the paws :D I've been carrying mine for a few days and digging it. Only issue is, I share all my Busseliciousness on FB with my fam and my sister thinks I should give it to her for her birthday LOL!

You should see if you can snag the pink Vex for her. Or get one of her own, if you tell her that you got this one "for her" it will have some sentimentality tied to it, and I have been told that chicks dig that stuff.

I agree about it being in the hands.
I liked the look of it, but when I held it, it just didn't jive... I want to use it, but I couldn't bring myself to carry it over my scrapmax due to the handle.

I have a plan for her ;) - picked up a dagger blank, making something cool just for her so she's pretty excited about that. She can buy her own damn Busse HAHA! She's a trip, she's a corporate exec at a big advertising company, on the weekends she's riding her Harley with "The Club" packing her own .45 LOL! ... I told her I'll make her a cool boot knife in case she needs "throw down" at her AARP meeting :D

Just wanted to follow up on this and give a quick shout out to the shop and the community.

You guys were right about it being sage. I emailed the shop and I already have my replacement.

Great customer service as always and very quick to fix.

Thanks again to Amy and crew for the quick turnaround. Sharpened by Alex and just as sharp as my two from Garth.

I won’t post pics because someone got a Bronze and Maroon up already, but it’s an awesome combo and am extremely happy with it.
 
Unintentional bump, but I might as well update the thread.
Handle has been reshaped, as per post above. Kydex has been folded, as well as logo etched.

This weekend, I may be going to be stripping the Bronze... I am not sure if I want to wait til it starts to wear off a bit though.

Is there a Modified Busse thread?
