I doubt much is going to change in the second poll...so..it will have finger grooves and no disk. It should be a stonewashed, S90V, nail nick, drop point blade. Nickle silver bolsters, carbon fiber scales and no clip.

Not a bad combination, hope we get to see a mock up and an approximate price. The only thing I'm not sure of is the nail nick on a drop point. Preston

I'm not sure on the nail nick either, but I do have mockups of the 2 possible winners. We've gone with the majority poll on one of the mockups with the exception of the stonewash. It should never have been an option. If I would have had more foresight, I wouldn't have included it in the possibilities. It just looks awful. The second mockup will be with the blue micarta rather than the carbon fiber. The knife will be less expensive with the Micarta. Couples with S90V, we may be over budget with carbon fiber. Still waiting for pricing from Buck.

eon blue, SK guy is having Buck build a 'user model' per his comment on page 17. So, he can veto the Winning knife poll items and have something else built. So, it makes me wonder why we did all this. Some items surfaced that they and likely Buck looked at. So, really no telling what we'll see in the model brought forth.??? DM

I'm curious as to why you question why we "did all this" if the end knife happens to be slightly different than majority vote. It is frustrating to see comments such as this when we are doing our best to include the huge knowledge and passion base of the forum members AND also produce a product that people will love. We did all this to get everyone's valuable opinion and to connect with all of you. These knife collabs with the forum are one of my favorite things as a business owner. You all open our eyes far beyond our office walls. In the end, our cost may be out of budget and the knife could be slightly different. I know it will ruffle half the feathers here. I'd rather take the ruffling and get everyone's input, let everyone be a part of it, than just push a product to the market. As a business, majority vote doesn't always make business sense. Stonewash, for example, is awful on this knife and will not be on the final. Anywho, my tone is not one of condemnation, but as a pleading to please be patient with us, and hopefully the community gets as much out of this process as we do.

It would be great if you post photo's so we see what you saw. No one wants an awful looking knife.

Okay, here are the final 2 winners. The Carbon Fiber variation is the majority winner of the original poll with the exception of the stonewash option. The blade will be satin finished, hollow grind. I've requested pricing from Buck on these 2, and depending on that answer, will determine what we go with! I know not everyone will be happy, but as far as I'm concerned, both these options look incredible and I'm very excited about this!!!

SKBlades, thanks for doing this. All in all a very interesting and educational experience for me.

Don't like a nail nick on a drop point blade, it shouldn't have been an option on the drop point:D. I will probably buy the knife anyway. Preston

Ditto to what pjsjr just said. I echo that thanks, SKBlades ... especially for working with so many knife knuts! ;)

For myself, just going through all the comments, opinions, likes and not-so-much likes has in and of itself made for most interesting reading. BTW, the final 2 winners are just that --- they are quite sharp-looking Bucks.:thumbup:

Great job!

Because, at the end if you retain a veto then much of our comments were for naught. You could bring out a model you prefer rather than the model with items that actually won in the poll. This was my question raised from your comment in your post. Anyway your investing and can make that call. We are merely giving our input in your, as requested poll. This was the way I saw your comment. I did counter this tenor with other comments. Thanks, DM

pj, I agree with you on both these points. He's putting up the investment risk and is bringing out something that went with the majority comments in his poll. So, I'm going to purchase the blue handled knife. Bending his way as well. I will support this attempt, even with it being frayed at the edges at times. As we saw very quickly the diverse array of comments. DM

It is posted on page 2 of this thread, if you are referring to the stonewash finish.

Sorry I was thinking that Buck sent you a real knife, not a computer generated image. Buck's CG image of a stonewashed blade is not even close to what it really looks like. That image is closer to what a very expensive fine bead blast finish looks like.

I like both photo's they both look like winners to me. Not much of a fan of Carbon Fiber unless it is sealed in acrylic as the edge gets dull and sometime pitts.

:thumbdn: Good luck to you though and thanks for the effort.

I was really hoping for a drop point with no nail nick and a pocketclip... I'll probably be passing on this one.

All in all I think they came out great! I'll agree with the others in saying that the nail nick looks a bit off. Had you separated the nail nick options in the poll by:
Drop point w/ nick
Drop point w/ o nick
Clip point w/ nick
Clip point w/ o nick
I bet the drop point crowd would have went with out the nick. I think the majority of nail nick votes came from folks also voting for a clip point(like myself).
But again, I think they look sweet over all. I like the looks of the one in carbon fiber(because I've never owned anything in it), but I have a feeling I'd like the price of the micarta a whole lot more!

I voted for a nail nick, but I rescind that vote. I like the clean look on both of these knives without one.

Finger grooves, yep I still want. I think they add value in looks and they do add grip. I have plenty of 110s without them. It's time to groove.

Someone mentioned Orange G10. SK had a run of them and there are still some available. I have one and it is awesome.

Should SK have the final word? I think so, absolutely. How many of you voted for the Grey G10 they offered and then bought one? I haven't seen a single picture of one on this forum! I would have vetoed that in a heartbeat.

The blue is dead sexy. I really want that knife. Agree with other posters that it would be even better without the nick.

Am looking forward to seeing the price. Will likely buy one.
