I can see the disc as a nice feature, the finger groves I can live without.

It's your topic you can handle it the way you want. But why was a mock up done on a drop point blade with a disk when the 'no disc' is winning the vote?? Why not do a no disc beside it? Then read the comment. DM

Because Buck hasn't sent me the mockup for the drop point with no disc yet.

They both look classy. I don't need the disc. I do prefer a nail notch, but you could put it on the other side so no one sees it. :D

The blue sure looks sharp! Pun intended of course.
I'd buy with or without the disc but perhaps I'm beginning to swing towards no disc. Choices, choices...

This, in an aluminum frame with pocketclip is exactly what I voted for :D

This with Vantage pocket clip. I like it too. About the only way I'd edc a 110. Slimmer would put it over the top. Too much other things going on in the sheath area.

Another option for me would be as above but no disc and add serrations and flat grind like the Vantage. :eagerness:

No disc, don't put that on the blade for the simple reason that not everyone's finger will open the knife with e disc in a fixed position. Some people have bigger hands, some smaller,if one handed opening is needed include a one armed bandit that the user can set up to their liking.

Tony, I wondered when you'd chime in on this. DM

I did vote in both threads. I'd love to see blue micarta. It would add a nice variety to a 110 collection. Thumb disk? I wouldn't mind the variety from the collectors standpoint, but not really a functional need. I'm always in for a new steel type!

I've read where a couple people totally object to blue. Interesting.

I'm realizing we are seeing 2 different users here. Type A user guy wants a thumb disk and pocket clip. Type B user doesn't care for the disk as they consider it gets in the way when cutting and when in the hand. Then the collector says, ok I don't care because I want one to collect. As it pretty and in a different steel. DM

Yes. I see those first two groups as modern (clip and stud/disk for front pocket carry and OHO) and traditional (no clip, no stud for sheath or rear pocket carry).

I'm squarely in the latter but Buck should support both I guess.

I've reviewed the thread and missed it. Aluminum scales? If yes and drop point and no clip/stud, I'm interested.

I'm afraid the aluminum scales were beat out already so I think you are out of luck. For the life of me I can't reason why, but such was the case. It looks almost exactly like the NS that everyone voted for but weighs half as much.

Aluminum is interesting and I'd like to try it some day, but I'm not confident how it will deal with long term use in edc. So I'm ok with NS. And personally I much prefer the clean look, like in the pics above. No nicks, clips, disks, shields, serial numbers, etc. Most of that is unnecessary, the rest just a distraction or in the way. Just my opinion, YMMV.
