I'm realizing we are seeing 2 different users here. Type A user guy wants a thumb disk and pocket clip. Type B user doesn't care for the disk as they consider it gets in the way when cutting and when in the hand. Then the collector says, ok I don't care because I want one to collect. As it pretty and in a different steel. DM

yes Sir. ain't that the truth.

I'm squarely in the latter but Buck should support both I guess.
I'm in the former and while this knife looks like it's going towards the latter, the thread still gives me hope. Whether it's SKBlades or someone else, the interest in a truly modern take on the 110 has to be noticed by somebody.

The 110 is a modern knife. All kinds of steels and handle configurations. More than any other knife produced. To change it too much might as well call it a 550 or 950 series. The configuration that comes from this will be awesome. Long live the 110 no matter how it turns out. Maybe it will double to 30 million sold and be a Sheath carry.

I feel strongly against a thumb disk. There are a lot of good options out there that already have one handed opening ability. The disk gets in the way of cutting as David said, and without a mid lockback or liner/frame lock it's harder to close with one hand anyway.

Besides that if you need it opened one handed it can be done without a thumb disk or thumb stud.

Not in the options. But I've put one of those in a 110 handle.
They have 41 hrs. and 20 mins. before this closes and a final model stated. Let's see what they offer. DM

I voted disc but now wish I hadn't.

That blue mock-up is dead sexy.

Am I to understand it was determined that this will definitely be a drop point blade?

eon blue, SK guy is having Buck build a 'user model' per his comment on page 17. So, he can veto the Winning knife poll items and have something else built. So, it makes me wonder why we did all this. Some items surfaced that they and likely Buck looked at. So, really no telling what we'll see in the model brought forth.??? DM

Thanks for the responses folks. I remember reading and voting on the first poll that was posted, but I left the forums for a time and an just now catching up. Looking forward to seeing the end results and if they are to my liking I will definitely jump on the knife when it is offered for sale.

Finger grooves don't add anything for function if you ask me they are just for looks.they make your hand grip the knife the same each time, which is not what I want in any knife,I want to be able to change my grip and not have pinching take place from finger grooves.I bet if you made 200 buck 110 with orage g10 handles and black coated s30v blade in a nickel bolster they would sell out in no time.just put that combination into a photo and you will see it's not only beautifull but fully functional too.

Razor - I like your idea that could be a hot look. I like the s30v actually the whole look when I think about it.
Yea- I like it!

Razor, I some what agree with you on the finger grooves. Yes, if they are deep which is why I never purchased a 560. But if they are made shallow they work quite well and still allow one to change hand positions. As for the knife you describe, I wouldn't buy one. As I don't care for that combination. I know the last time this this was offered they sold well but I didn't buy one then either. Anyway, SK has 2 more hours on this and then we'll see what they bring to the table. DM

I doubt much is going to change in the second poll...so..it will have finger grooves and no disk. It should be a stonewashed, S90V, nail nick, drop point blade. Nickle silver bolsters, carbon fiber scales and no clip.

Not a bad combination, hope we get to see a mock up and an approximate price. The only thing I'm not sure of is the nail nick on a drop point. Preston
