Passaround For WoodKarver

Let your friend try it out too. It does not need to ship to Todd until the 24th.

John, i just had to back out of the Beckerhead gathering. sorry for the false expectations.

and speaking of which....knife received! thanks Johnny.

after looking it over, i said out loud, "Wow. that's quite a knife."

I thought i would want a slightly longer handle. i thought i would prefer 1/16" to 3/32" stock. i thought i would want a shorter blade length. well....it's pretty clear i know nothing. the handle is just right. and, the grind on this is really great. i think she will be a good whittler. Good stuff John!

i will start carving with her tomorrow night.

i'm so excited!

No problem, I doubt anyone there would be interested anyway. Enjoy your time with the knife.

WHAT!?!
I feel fairly certain that that the majority of Beckerheads would have loved to get their hands on that and compare it to their beloved bk16. On top of that, 01 would be a treat for a carver over 1095 due to the thinner edge stability and longer edge life.

I know when I am able to make it to any of the Beckerhead gatherings, my JKs are going with me!

How are u liking the Woodkarver Todd?

have not been able to get back to it yet. busy work week. i've been longingly wishing for her though. i will get back to it this weekend and then get it out monday/tuesday.

fixed my band saw tonight. i have some bass wood that i needed to cut up so i could properly try out the WoodKarver. the only problem was once i was done fixing my saw (successfully, fortunately), i ran out of time. but, i had been thinking about carving all day, and i could not wait any longer. so, i decided to cut out a couple strop blanks from some wood i had lying around. i figured i would just horse around and use the WoodKarver for the handle.

SUPER impressed with how this thing hawgs off the wood. john, i love the grind you put on this thing. it's great. i was able to remove a lot of wood, but could still use it to make delicate curls, as well. really impressed. it made quick work on the handle. very enjoyable.

i will cut out some bass blocks tomorrow and get busy.

You can pass me on this one. Going to be too busy for the foreseeable near future and won't have a chance to really try it. Sorry.

Todd,

Looks like you got what you need to be cast in Dazed and Confised part 2..... Nothing like a bicentennial era hazing paddle!

so, i said i would send this out "monday or tuesday." i got caught doing a lot of yard work the last several days. dang spring cleaning. it's tough when i manage both my house and my old lady's.

i would like to keep this WoodKarver another day and see if i can actually use it a bit more. if anyone objects, then i will get it in the mail.

You should keep it for however long it takes for you to make hazing paddles for everyone on the list.... The last day of school is aproaching for those incoming freshman..... LOL! Its a cool little knife isnt it?

As I believe I'm the next on the list, I don't have any objection to you keeping the knife another day to give it a better workout. As long as it's ok with Mr. K, you get no complaints from me. I'm still waiting to see more pictures of this knife being put through its paces.
