Passaround For WoodKarver

Ha! Notice there aren't any sheets on that bed.
Its more of a play ground than bed room right now.

My dad is in the process now of making a dash and steering wheel that lays down over the bed so my boy can pretend hes driving!

Karver received.

Im immediately impressed with the handle. The rounded rear and squared front really lets your hand move freely around the handle for different positions.

Ill put it to use this weekend and see what I can whittle out!

Well, heres my review of the WoodKarver: I LOVE IT! :p

But seriously, this is an awesome knife. I didn't get to use it that much, unfortunately. It seems life always had something else for me to do instead of carve up some wood.
The things I did get to do with it are, open an envelope and cut new vinyl screen for the backporch. The Karver performed both jobs flawlessly.

Not much can be said about opening an envelope.

Cutting screen however did enlighten me to a new technique ive never used before.
The Wharncliffe or Sheepsfoot style blade allowed me to perform a very precise cut using the tip of the blade.
Also this style blade allowed me to turn the knife a bit sideways while still performing a horizontal cut, and with the excellent handle shape of the squared front scales my thumb had plenty of room to grip the handle.
This grip let me actually see the side of the blade while I was cutting.
The overall length of the knife is just the right size also. I noticed while I was cutting that the butt end of the handle was firmly against the butt end of my palm.

I really enjoyed using this knife and its one that I definitely want to add to the collection.
This is an excellent EDC knife.

Thankyou John for giving me a teaser of another knife to add to the JK wish list!
