Nice. Those pics need to be in the picture thread too.;)

Thanks Don :)

I had the knife out doing some yard work this weekend.

Tools ready? check

I was digging a small vegetable garden and doing some general clean up.

It was just me and the girl this weekend because my wife and son are of vising a Lego land exhibit that came through Cincinnati, we took a break and my tin knife cut some apples for us.

When the girl went down for a nap I cam back out to finish up. Clean up time.

The 1/16" made cutting up discovered roots a breeze, which was very handy

No edge damage to speak of. I wasn't going to abuse it and don't think I have but I'm typically heavy handed, I honestly want to know if it can stand up to a guy whose sometimes clumsy and often finds himself in cutting awkward things in not so idea situations...it did :D

After the garden came some box cutting and burning, some of the boxes had sat out and were that dry yet somehow soggy kind of cardboard that normally needs pushing through rather then cutting, again the 1/16 came in handy

All done outside, I have a pork shoulder ala grunt soldier's receipt in the oven today, should be ready in about an hour or so, then it'll get it's "food test" and I think I'll be all set to pass it along.

Only minus point I'd say so far is in gloves it was harder to get it out the sheath, whoever made must not think to good. :p

Patiently waiting...
100_6709_zps8111fb6d.jpg

It's ready! (I have to learn another good meal, pulled pork doesn't take enough slicing after all :))

not to say that the ULH didn't come in handy and earn it's position
100_6712_zpsadf52ef3.jpg

Have to say the 1/16 just flourishes in the kitchen role

Now I just need a fmaily to feed, they should be back soon

That shoulder looks awesome! I can remember the smell in the house when that came out of the oven when we made it!

I agree 100% that the 1/16 is perfect for the kitchen.

Thin slice some onions, or cut some raw carrots - that will show you.

I know you can make tomato slices you can read through with a 1/16" JK....

best

I apologize for the photos, as i have said before, my camera can't handle anything but natural daylight, but it had to be done anyway, mqqn asks....:

not bad, but I touched up the edge, it's been through a bit, note I use the guided system, a sharpening wonder I am not

better...say that was fun

feather stick tomato, anyone?

they didn't move...

this 01 in 1/8" is pretty Sharpe to

they moved for it. does that mean anything?

Ummm, thin apple (as those who went to the gather know I'm rarely to be found without a bag of apples close by)

I fear my bag of apples is in danger, that's you reading the K on a tin knife (that I have named "wedge" by the way, in the same way you can't help naming kittens in a shop window) through a slice of apple cut with 1/16"

this is me thinking i can do better, those are big letters after all, bold even

this is me while my family waits for dinner which still isn't being prepared....I'm busy

this is you wanting a knife in JK 01 steel at 1/16"...and a pork chop

...wonder what i can cook with 6 thinly sliced apples and tomatoes...Salad!

Ya gotta love a good slicer.:D
Thanks for the pics and the smiles.

this will be going back out Monday, could I get the address for the next lucky participant, thanks again for the chance :)

woot!
I have a campout planned next weekend with a bunch of guys from BCUSA, so with luck can get you some input from a variety of users.

I don't know guys, thing looks pretty handsome, maybe I'll just...but no :(

FYI I don't ship in the sheath, I waterproof them and once when i tried shipping with a JK in the sheath (in the JK TK 2.0 passaround) it turned up with some light rust, luckily it was myke who got it - and he's pretty handy don't you know - he knocked of the rust with some light sanding I believe and it was good to go, anyway, I don't do that no more. Also if anyone wants to make it a better sheath that's all good with me, looking through that sheath thread myke posted about has made me want to see if I can put int he effort and bring up my f and f now I've been playing with it a while, anywho, thought I'd mention it.
