Passaround - Ultralite Hunter

Knife showed up today!
feels good in hand - nice and light, fair handle length, good contours.
Used it to debone and section up a smoked pork shoulder tonight, then diced up a potato and an onion, pan fried them and had that with some of the pork smothered in 4 men and a pig BBQ sauce and shredded cheese melted over the top.

since SWMBO was at work, I didn't have anyone with clean enough hands to take pics while the greasy work was going on, so you'll just have to suffer through a couple comparison pics with my JK-O. ;)

Sweet! I was not thinking about how close that Ultralight Hunter is to the Original.

Looks like your JKO is holding up great - I remember how beautiful that IPE wood is -

Thanks for the pictures - and making me want bbq pork for breakfast lol -

c'mon over -- there's plenty and I also made some pork jerky. :)

Took the light hunter camping - it was a hit with everyone who handled it.
Made fuzz sticks, made sparks, did food prep - unfortunately, it did all this while my camera was sitting at home...
Showed it to a buddy at work today and he's wondering if he can take it turkey hunting this week.
I trust him if you're OK with the idea.

I handed it over this afternoon -- he's stoked.
He really liked the shape, balance, handle contours, and the edge that's on it.

I got it back - he says that's the nicest knife he's ever held.
absolutely loved the handle.
did not get a turkey -- apparently his son sat in an ant's nest so they weren't out very long...
said handle ergos were great, nice and light, good balance, SHARP -- and he was bummed it didn't get to dress out a bird, but he figured he could process a deer in under 10 minutes with it, so if you want to do another passaround in 6 months...

and now that it's stopped raining, I hope to get outside and cut some stuff up with it myself. :)
question about how long to hold onto this -- do you want me to send it on it's way this week, or take it to the Becker Gathering next weekend and get more hands on it before sending it on?

Back from Tennessee -- knife got handled by a lot of folks.
it did more food prep, a little whittling, and got a lot of complements.
unfortunately, I forgot to pack my camera so do not have more pictures.
as soon as I have shipping info from John, I will be sending this on to the next tester.
Thanks for the extra time with this one!

Is anyone going to post a review in a forum besides mine, like was requested in the original post? I would like it to get a little exposure somewhere besides here.

Wait till that puppy lands in the cornfield!
