Wow, very generous of you! Yeah i humbly admit i may some higher priced folders, but if i expect i may have to cut something with a folder beyond paper it is a Rat 1 that i carry. I would very much like to try out a condor.
"The Ocho" well named.
I peeked in the other threads but they moved so quick it was hard to keep track. Anyways here is a little something that I am sure someone else could use more than I do. It is a pocket fixed blade made by Kelley Ward aka HardEdgeKnives. Big blade for a two finger knife and with the added lanyard you can get your whole hand on it. Well I can.
First person who wants it, it's theirs. So long as you can legally own it. USA only, sorry international folks.
Just say "I'll take it!" and then send me an email or PM with your address.
The Bic is just for scale. Those disappear on their own anyways.

I know it's not up for PIF but I still had to comment...that is a great looking knife![]()
The edge on mine looks similar. One of those carbon steels that really shows the sharpening, which I really like honestly. My Tavian has a crazy sharpening/natural patina look from use as my one and only steak/veggie/fruit knife.
Hey pete, I could really use that wallet.
Keep the Rat! It's a PIF "thing". Also, your story really tells me a lot about your masochistic tendencies.Well, I tried to give away the rat 1 gifted to me by whetstone today and sadly it wasn't accepted, I feel bummed.. I know I said I'd cherish it but I'd also feel good about letting that particular person have it. (No PIF)
It had the honor of being the only blade to accompany me to MS today (not counting the fixed in my pack) for, funnily enough a Hapkido knife knife defense defense seminar (pocket carry unrelated to the seminar)
One of the kids (14yrs, judo brown belt) from our group that went with us was admiring the folding training (blunt) knives that were brought with us built similar to the rat( he was playing with them, flicking them open with the wrist, grabbing it back and forth, ect.), that I let him try out my rat.
He liked it, so I asked if he would like to keep it.
Sadly his response was "no, I don't ever have a reason to pull a knife on someone"; after a day of training both defensive and aggressive cutting techniques, he only saw a knife as a weapon..
I tried to explain that it isn't for that (though I admit, the only advantage the rat has over any other knife that I own and the reason that I've been chosing to carry it when going to certain areas is as a weapon*I frequent a lot of ghetto, and I don't use that term lightly * )but his ears were closed to that and he wasn't trying to hear it.
So then I was double sad.
But overall, I had an incredible day. It was an amazing experience training under and being used for demonstration by a Grand Master. Just feeling the amount of pain immediately inflicted upon my body merely by being touched by the man was a worthwhile experience.
Night you guys.
Bumpin' 'em up for the Sunday Brunchers.Hey all,I have a couple of Opinels needing new homes.(I like to mod 'em & pass 'em on)
The top one is an Oak handled SS #8 I reshaped & stained. It is 4 1/4" closed & the blade is 3 1/4".
The bottom is a carbon steel #7 Coghlan's I sanded & stained.The handle is a sixteenth shy of 4" & the blade is 3 1/16".
I sanded the sides of both to thin them out a bit(not much though) & added the cutouts for easy opening with just a pinch of the blade.
The #7 carbon has been etched in mustard, but the pattern came out uneven.I then cold blued it,then took most of the blueing off with some 000 scotch-brite for a nice aged look.
Both handles have a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil to seal 'em too.
Anyone not on "the list"can claim one as long as you are legally able to own a knife.(one per person please)
The catch is you have to wait until after the Seahawks kick the Falcons butts tomorrow to post a claim.crossed fingers
)
But if the Falcons win,I will retract the offer & burn them both!!!
Just kidding about the burning, but if you claim one you better not be from GA.if the Hawks lose.
Aw heck, never mind,it's just a game so I'll ship to GA. too.
Post here in the thread which one you want (after the game),then send me your addy via Email or PM please.
I'll get them out ASAP next week.

There is a small spot of scratches from sanding on the raised part of the collar on the top one,the #8.You can see it right next to the N there in the bottom pic.
