Pay it forward 8 - "THE OCHO"!

My local Wally world super center had a Skyline on clearance for $30. I looked at it and the blade had rust on it! That kinda turned me off a little, but I just didn't like the feel of it. I know that there are alot of people who swear by the Skyline, but it wasn't for me. Not even at $30. That is what I mean about getting my hopes up on a knife. I have an HK 14455 that is the same thing. I bought it, and now I am kinda stuck with it. Oh well... :o

The Skyline is arguably one of the best EDC carries in that size out of any price range.

It's right up there with the Delica in goodness factor, there is literally nothing bad that can be said about it that wouldn't be nit picking! I had not wanted either or understood why someone would like a lockback or a flipper until I actually held a specimen of each. They are literally perfect EDCs if you are looking for something of that size.

The Cryo is less functional in ergonomics but its fun factor more than makes up for it!

I wanted to try a flipper for awhile and had one on it ways but the post office employee must have liked one too. LOL I will look into either the Cryo, Cryo 2 and/or the Skyline. Not sure which one would make the best flipper for me to check out!

I like the skyline much more than the cryo but that's just me.

Agreed, I've never been a fan of the flippers that stick out like a sore thumb like on the cryo (and all hindere designs w/flippers) but the skyline's flipper (and like say the shallot) is practice and work very well while not protruding as much.

I'd highly recommend skyline> cryo (for other reasons too, not just the flipper).

Not saying he's never paid anything forward or contributed to the thread. Not even saying he's not "even." I'm more pointing out the rude and disrespectful way in which he demands things behind the scenes. Glad to hear he didn't pull the same thing with you, but not all of us are so lucky.

What are you talking about behind the scenes? With your Cryo, I posted on the thread, then I wanted for a bit to see if either you or CK would PM me and then sent you and CK my shipping info with a Thank You.

I like the looks of the Skyline better and is seems like it is more sleek but dont have one so not sure if that is the case really or not. LOL I wish some place here had them in stock so I could hold them before I bought one online. :)

This is what I mean by most people swear by it. It is a very nice looking knife. I have seen some customized ones that are really, really nice knives. But for me, it just didn't do it. It just didn't call out to me when in my hand. I am sure you guys know what I mean, when that certain knife sits in your hand, and you get that soft spot light glow on you, and you hear the trumpets or the angelic voices going "ahhhhhhh"... or maybe its just me?

The Skyline came in two Sandvik steels the first issues Skylines were more prone to rusting than the newer ones! You have to look on the label which Sandvik it is....either way it's only light surface rust and will come off with a wipe! If you don't like think scaled knives the Kershaw is definitely not going to be for you. There's definitely a difference in EDC choices for the folks with giant paws vs regular size paws.

Sir mike its a really thin and straight knife. I know for sure some people don't like that fact. For me I loved it, I'm just not much a of a flipper fan. I had the fixed blade version as well and the fixed blade Skyline was just awesome as well.

I kinda thought that the rust would come off easily. It was just something about the Skyline that didn't feel right for me.

I dont know much if anything about Kershaw's so not sure what you mean by "which Sandvik it is". Do you know which one is the better one? I would guess it is the only one available now, right? I didnt know they are marked on the blades or at least on the 1760 model one I was looking at.

It's the one with the 14 Sandvik designation. If you buy it and don't like it it will sell for what you paid for it less shipping costs.

I'm not putting this up for grabs or anything because my boyfriend gave it to me and it's special but can someone tell me how I could possibly cover up all the chipped off spots? This probably sounds like a stupid question but I am totally new to knives and owning them and handling them and stuff so excuse me if I'm too "noob" haha.

Is that steel marked on their Skyline's? If not, how do I know I am getting that steel in the 1760 I was thinking about? That is the right model for the Skyline, I think! :)

Your picture isn't showing, unless its on my side.

Yeah see I knew something was up. Someone tried to tell me how to do it and it didn't show up. Can you guys help me @_@ sorry.

Well, it is actually a topic for a new thread I'd say, but...

Looks well used and taken care of, not terribly abused.
If it were mine, I'd carry it and use it as is. It has obviously earned that wear and looks better for it.
