Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

Im gonna go ahead and offer this one up too. I REALLY like this knife but its not seeing much pocket time, and its bitten me twice in the past month. Im taking that as it wasn't meant to be. This will make a fantastic user for someone. The only condition, use it because it begs to be used, or give it to someone you know who doesnt have a good knife. Its just a beautiful blade and I hope it serves someone well.

Might I be able to claim this one? My dad's ended up in the lake not too long ago.

I gave him an old griptilian of mine, but he doesn't like it.

T.L.E. - just sent you the tracking info on the Tenacious. Dropped it in a blue mailbox a couple of hours before Saturday pickup so think it should go out today!

WOW! What a great looking knife. Looks like the used the same style of thumb stud as on the Kershaw Blur. One of the best thumb studs ever.

I'd also like to add another couple of knives. An orange buck spitfire (correct model I believe?) That has not been used. It has a slight lock rock if you really tug it, which apparently is an issue with this model. The camillus is Aus8, and it is an awesome blade shape. Very much like a folding steak knife!

I am surprised that both of these are still here. If nobody claims them before July 5th can I have the Buck? Heck, I'd be happy with the Camillus too. You choose for me.
The Spitfire would take it's place in my hiking and camping gear. The Camillus would go into rotation with my Griptilian and Prowler.

Like I said in an earlier post, I have a thing for orange handled knives. My daughter snagged my orange handled flipper last month. The things you do for family.

This site has been great to me and it's my turn to pay it forward.

I have a US-made Kershaw G10 bump with flat textured black G10 scales, satin blade that was given to me by another member in a deal. He was kind and generous and I want to be the same. I've carried it, opened letters with it and enjoyed it. It's a great knife that needs a new home. Once it's yours, you can do what you want with it; sell it to pay bills, give it to a youngster so they may develop a love for blades, whatever as long as you pay it forward.

I'm away for Independence Day weekend so I can't ship until Wednesday. Happy Independence Day all!

Who wants?

If I could I'd like to try out the bump & I'll put up my Kershaw Stobe for someone to claim. Thanks

I'd like to claim this Strobe if you don't mind :)

And to anyone who wants it, I will offer up my Victorinox Tinker (if I can find it) or a Pocket Pal. Shoot me a PM and it's yours

You guys are awesome, over the last 18 or so years I've been here I've given away many, many knives , won many knives, gifted many, many knives and been on the receiving end of many a generous member who have gifted me knives. I have every knife I was gifted or won in a giveaway (you don't sell a gift, that's just inconsiderate) I know who gave me every knife and will cherish it for the gift in good will it was intended to be. I have a cheap tin shell Colonial Barlow that was a gift and means as much to me as the 2 ZTs I recently received to try out when I asked the question, "What's so great about ZT knives and why I should try one" and was later told to keep them as a birthday gift, (Thanks Anthony, I got 'em both hair poppin ' sharp :) )

The knife community is an enigma, the friendships I've built with many of you over the years are as precious to me as the friends I've grown up with since childhood and I value the friendships I've made here just as much.

Now to the reason I'm posting here, as many of you who know me my wife has been in and out of the hospital having had 5 back surgeries in less than 4 weeks and still has more to go. This site, BFC and the members of the community have been helpin' me get through the difficult time I've been having dealin' with the health issues of my wife and all the stress associated with a loved one whose going' through so much pain that I weep for my wife. She's doin' much better and as a show of appreciation since I've only given away about 6 or 7 knives this year but have received many more from members here I've decided to join in the fun.

I know the feelin' of satisfaction when you gift a knife to someone, especially when they appreciate it just feels great and makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, (no offense Adam, ;) ) so in keeping with the spirit of the thread and in celebration on the anticipated recovery of my wife I want to dig up some sleepers I have sitting around and throw them into the mix for PIF thread. It may take me a bit as my wife is still in the hospital but give me about a month or 2 to pull some offerings together for you guys, it'll give me something to do when they operate on my shoulder in 6 weeks, ( I'll be laid up unable to do much with my arm for 10-18 months) I'm subscribed now so I can follow the thread and when I get a few together I'll post them up for grabs.

This is one of the finest communities I'm part of and full of wonderful members from all walks of life, thanks everyone keep up the great work and don't let a few bad apples (or one real rotten one) ruin a good thing.

Sorry for the long post with no pictures but you guys know me, as soon as the Mrs gets home from the hospital I'll dig some up and post them up to put them into the PFI inventory.

Have a great evening and great holiday celebratin' our Nation's Birthday and don't forget to check back occasionally for my offerings when I get the time to pick them out and post pics.

Been there and done that Ted! 9 spinal surgeries for me.....scoliosis and fell off a roof onto my ass from 8' when I was 20.
I literally feel her pain, and yours watching her go through this shit.
Prayers sent and candles lit for the 2 of you guys.
Here is the X-ray of my procedure. I need to carry this every time I go to an airport or courthouse. I set off alarms now and again.
Let her know that it does get better! I am a thick headed WOP and held off on the surgeries for years. Wish I didn't!

You will be happier than hell with the Strobe. One of the best flippers I have ever owned. Custom handles will make it in a league of its own for a $30 knife. I paid almost $50 for mine and am still happy (got it at a gun show right before most dealers had it in stock, paid a slight premium for early access). My only complaint was the clip is a little weird, and I had to actually file it a little and hammer it into place to use it lefty.

I guess it is time for me to pay it forward.

Some of you might know that I carry a US made Kershaw Zing more than any other knife I own. I have three. One orange, one black and the last one is a limited run tanto with a black finished blade, Model #1735TCKT or Tanto for short. Tanto is a lot like my daughter, beautiful but with an attitude. Tanto has recently informed me that she does not like being ignored and wants to move out and have a life. On to greener pastures, so to speak.

Unlike her new foreign made Zing cousins Tanto does not feature SpeedSafe and thinks it's disgusting. Tanto believes in her heart that she is better than her all stainless cousins because her side of the family features Sandvik's 14C28N steel. And she is right. If you have never used this steel, she will show you how it is a joy to sharpen and use. It is amazing how fine of edge you can get on the 14C series steel.

I bought Tanto as a dress knife and have not given her much attention or pocket time. She is in excellent shape and really is a looker with her black blade. Her black finish sets off her thumb stud beautifully.

So if you think that Tanto might be the raven beauty you desire and you have what it takes to adopt her, let me know. Adoption requirements are as follows:

1. You must be a BF.com member before Jan 2016 or have more than 50 post.

2. If she informs you that she is unhappy with you too, you must find a new home for her without making a profit.

US adoptions only please.

I had Tanto's satin bladed sister long ago, and thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. I would love to claim this one!

The Wench is yours. PM me with your adoption information. Please allow her about one week to tell all of her friends goodbye. That should be enough time to get her to the USPS bus station.

I agree but her two sisters are just so much fun!

I know that I am going miss her but she is just another pretty blade.
