Pay It Forward -- it's been a while

Good news and bad news.... The good news is that my new Benchmade Volli arrived safely, and is a really nice knife. The bad news is that it's not as grippy as I'd hoped, and my arthritic hand doesn't hold it very well. OK, that's good news for someone here, because I'm turning it back loose. Claim it and shipping is free in the USA.

Big thank you to blades&wrenches for the chance to try this one out.

May I give the Volli a try sir? It would give me a very sturdy user, to which I would get lots of use out of! I will have to come up with some more nice stuff to contribute once I'm done moving, because moving is how the cool kids spend long holiday weekends right?

That is a bummer about your wife Ted. I hope she has a speedy recovery!
I was actually just wondering where you had been lately. I had realized that I hadn't seen that groovy avatar of yours in a while.

I'd also like to add another couple of knives. An orange buck spitfire (correct model I believe?) That has not been used. It has a slight lock rock if you really tug it, which apparently is an issue with this model. The camillus is Aus8, and it is an awesome blade shape. Very much like a folding steak knife!

It's a Spitfire. I have the same one in green with an orange backspacer. Mine has a bit of lock wiggle, too, but it's still a really good knife. I quite like mine. (Just chiming in as encouragement for anyone interested in the orange one above.) :)

Sorry I fixed that to Volli. Autocorrect is indeed the bane of my existence at times. It tried to correct to Collins this time...

Email me your address.

Oh and I'm not a Sir. ;)

Lone_Wolfe - I used the email link on your profile. Let me know if it doesn't come through. Thanks again for the opportunity friend!

My knife from OilMan arrived today. Thank you so much! This is a spectacular blade and I definitely see it being put to work.

Oh... and TGIF!

So that is what I passed up. Great looking knife.

I did show these pics to my wife to let her know what could have been.

Jerry, will you do a favor for me? Now that I have cardiac problems, I am not supposed to eat beef anymore. To me, not many things in life are better than a good knife and a nice cut of beef. Please BBQ a steak and use that knife to cut it. Snap a picture and post it here in the thread? That would make my day.

Sorry it wasnt what you were looking for LW, but thanks for passing it along. Maybe JP will like it and get some use out of it. Thats all I could ask...If you dont feel it, pass it on to the next person.

Hi everybody. Springy here. This thread is fantastic. The generosity here is simply astounding. I love you guys and gals..

I was going to jump on that Kershaw Cryo that DBK put up but not for me, for my dear friend JupiterPaladin. His grail is the ZT550 and the Cryo looks like a baby brother version of it. His small knife collection is growing, as is our friendship. JP is truly a stand up guy and I'm very proud to count myself as his brother. But it looks like he's scored that cool Volli which I think he'll love (nice work bladesandwrenches and Lone Wolfe) so I'll leave that Cryo for someone else. Someone jump on it, it looks so cool!

All the best brothers and sisters, keep this beautiful thing happening. I'm loving it..

Springy..

P.s. Jerry, you'd better show that gorgeous ZedTee off over at the Becker sub. Can't wait to see more of it. I know TBL Tim likes to show off his!

P.p.s. Ted, I wish you and your wife all my very best brother. I truly do..

Hey Springy, I'm just as proud to be your brother! I truly appreciate the kind gesture. My small collection has evened out, as I found a new loving home for my Kabar 1607 earlier in this thread, and the black Schrade paraframe I gave away in person to a guy I saw struggling to cut some dry rotting radiator hose using a rusted old hawkbill knife with chips in the blade and zero working edge. He was pretty happy to have something normal looking! So I swapped out a couple I wasn't going to use for ones that I will. There are a lot of generous people here indeed.

Lucky for you, I have about 1/4th of a cow left in the freezer. We get our beef straight from the source (married a farm girl). There's a good possibility of this happening soon...... It's the least that I could do. :D

You need to get your upside-down, toilet water spinning in the wrong direction arse over to snark then. :D
There's also a lot of good septic tank info there now too.
