Pay It Forward Number 9... Number 9... Number 9

I like the svord, you can do all kinds of crazy things with a Lanyard on it.

You could tie a length of rope through the hole in the tang that wraps around your hand that is only long enough to let you go so far up the blade and no further without snagging at the back

Thus making a quick finger guard as long as the blade stays in open position, if you let up with your palm, then all bets are off

I've been sick lately. Waiting on some "aquatic" antibiotics to come in through the mail this week. I can personally attest to the fact that what is inside at least one brand of aquatic doxycycline USP 100 gram is the EXACT same pill that I used to get under prescription at the pharmacy. I know because I had a few left over to compare it too.

That said, I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken as medical advice, but I have said what I said and they are facts.

Just gunna leave that little PIF nugget of truth out there, research it yourself, be responsible for your own actions.

Hope you feel better Steve and thanks for that BTS knife sleuthing on the pradel. Here's a pic of my svord mini in a leather pouch sheath I made from a leather scrap.

And is this what you mean by a lanyard finger guard? It works.

Sorry this ones not for PIF but it was fun making the sheath and if I find the time and get better at it I might offer to make some more for folks' svords and Opi's.

Oh and I also have this one for PIF. It's not much, but maybe someone can use it. Its a little Winchester knife. Would be good for opening the mail. I wouldn't trust it for too much more than that though...

Same thing, post here you want it, then shoot me an email. I am sorry but I have to limit this to the US only.

PIF OFFER: I have a NIB Buck skinner to offer, never used, carried, or sharpened. Free to a good home. If more than one person is interested i'll generate a random number to select the new home around 8:00 CST tonight. This is the knife:

I'll wait to see if more than one person would like it then i'll generate a random number to select the winner

I'd love to gift that skinner to my nephew, who just took his first deer yesterday while out hunting with me. Gutted, skinned, and butchered him with all of my knives...he deserves one of his own at this point. He is old enough and very responsible now. That beauty would be going in to the hands of a very young and up and coming knife nut! :D

No pressure at all, just know it would serve him well and really make his day. Growing up to be a great young man. I've been teaching him a lot about knives/hunting/gun safety etc since his father isn't into those things.

Update:

Whet -- I'm still working on the review for the A100 - I haven't forgotten. It has been a rough few months for me in terms of finances and time. I think it will be a very interesting read once it's finished.

STV -- I got the LHB today. Wow -- you weren't kidding, that bad boy was in rough shape. The edge was beat to hell and looked more like a serrated edge! I cleaned her up, stripped the coating, and put a working patina on her. Got her edge all cleaned up and convexed. Now she's been pressed into firewood duty. A long and happy life awaits...even if it is a hard life! I'm very happy with it, thank you. Pics coming...

I'm very glad to see what my old knife looks like stripped :) I've always thought about doing it.

What did you use that didn't damage the Kraton handle?

NYO, just don't come down on it with the hammer of thunder and it should hold up forever.

Let the force of the baton do it for you. Remember, its still a stick tang, a very strong stick tang and I've never seen one broken but still. Anyway, you can see the hell I out it through; give her lots more.

I used Klean-Strip and then sanded her down a little. Then gave her an apple cider vinegar bath for an hour, and that's it -- she took the patina nicely.

I am hard on my firewood knives for sure. Feels more sturdy than my USMC's for sure. I have high hopes and expect it to last well! Thanks again.

Whetstone, Im in for the random number draw for my pops as well. He is headed to Montana in two weeks and he would freak out to skin his elk with that!! I will be into the random number draw for him. Ive never seen this knife before.
