Thanks guys. I'm just "in the zone" til I settle into my new job, then I'll probably buy some things to spread the love of inexpensive, decades proven tools. :)

I know you might not be back on for a few days but if you see this, in what field is your job? You said you were waiting for it to start so now it has I guess, and I'm curious.

Sweet! Glad that they found a good home!

This offer is still available. Currently have received 0 replies.

Sent you an email. I had figured it would have been long gone by the time I got to it.

Also, my next PiF will be put up either Monday night or Tuesday. Whoever gets it will be happy with the mods it received.

Gerber, well, I don't remember what they called this thing, (edit: Chameleon) but it comes from the era when Gerber made good knives in the US. My first good lockback was a Gerber Bolt Action and I've retained an affection for them no matter how many times people here call them junk. This has an ambidextrous Bolt Action lock and the original sheath.

Usual conditions: don't be a hog and do intend to use it.

I think it was called the Chameleon, a precursor to the Remix. Not that it helps any (knife geekiness on my part)

This is complete Greek to me.

You're not going to get 100 names in here, lol. We do little semi-giveaways here and there, but they are small and short. This is a pay it forward thread, where people offer items, and other people pick em up. 100 people saying "hey I'm in vector12!" will really clog the thread.

He has 100 bullet casings that were annealed and converted by a factory.

That chameleon is really cool! My dad had one that stayed in his truck for a long time but I'm not sure what ever happened to it.

Just checking in after a couple of very long cold days. Glad to see things are progressing here. With no bucks for me this deer season and a freezer full of doe meat, thought i would offer one (a buck knife) this week. Will be a fixed blade, to be offered tomorrow or Tuesday.

Why not just offer up some deer sausage?? :D

There's nothing more knife related than a bundle of deer meat in gut casing, I'd use my knife to cut it :)

Hahahaha, nice! I have taken 3 does this season, and donated one to Hunter's for the Hungry, a program that feeds the homeless in my state. If i take another, more than happy to send some your way

That's absolutely awesome of you about the homeless whet.

N cool, if you do pass around some venison, let me be the 1st to know. I thought dry smokey-oily foods didn't require much refrigeration but I'm wierd

Not sure either, will figure it out. Did not use the Svord to gut any of them though, used a Bark River Aurora. Will NOT be offering that any time soon, great knife, perhaps my favorite fixed blade

Im headed out this Saturday to go upstate...Monday is opening day, it'll be my youngest boy's first time, my oldest has been out a few...I've been sitting here thinking I need another fixed blade (I got a really nice homemade one last PIF, but I need another to either keep, or pass on to hunter #3)/ I'll be watching! :)

I like the svord, you can do all kinds of crazy things with a Lanyard on it.

You could tie a length of rope through the hole in the tang that wraps around your hand that is only long enough to let you go so far up the blade and no further without snagging at the back

Thus making a quick finger guard as long as the blade stays in open position, if you let up with your palm, then all bets are off

I've been sick lately. Waiting on some "aquatic" antibiotics to come in through the mail this week. I can personally attest to the fact that what is inside at least one brand of aquatic doxycycline USP 100 gram is the EXACT same pill that I used to get under prescription at the pharmacy. I know because I had a few left over to compare it too.

That said, I am not a doctor and this is not to be taken as medical advice, but I have said what I said and they are facts.

Just gunna leave that little PIF nugget of truth out there, research it yourself, be responsible for your own actions.

You can send some deer jerky my way. My first day out will be the traditional Thanksgiving day hunt for me. Hope to be able to fill my freezer as well

If i could figure a way to do it, I would! :). Thinking this is more "knifey" though ;)

Jerky ships with ease most anywhere, just sayin.....:D

Well, Strike three for us this weekend. A doe and decent 8 point walked past my son and BIL Sat morning, but they were not able to get a clear shot. Season closed out yesterday, guess that is why they call it hunting, not killin'.
