Ok well then...

I'm going to offer up one of my more useful knives. I have multiples of these and it will come in near mint user condition. These are my go to knives for carving ham, turkey, pot roasts and I guarantee they will zip through meat. I normally wouldn't buy Cutco but on that note it's made in the USA same factory as Kabar and the heat treat on the 440A is awesome. These came with my wife as she sold them in college years ago.

It's a petite carver. I don't know which one I have a multiple of but I will check today and send it out. If there is more interest than just one person I will use a random number generator otherwise it's not an EDC so I'm certain only someone who will want it will take it. But other than that you just need to show in your post history that you are a member of BF and that you contribute to posts other than GAW's. Thanks! PS It has a lifetime warranty and sharpening service as well.

I almost sold cutco last year, but it started seeming real scammy. Hope it worked out for your wife! I know those knives you are offering don't come cheap to the average person. Great generosity!

I can't say that they are worth full retail, but up against my regular kitchen stuff like Henkcels and Wusthof in the under $80-$150 range they hold their own. The Cutco serrated carving knives are the only kind that I have and since I don't use them on a daily basis will, with certainty last a lifetime. I would just prefer that folks, if the knife is not for them to PIF versus trading it for something and then selling that item which is what some BF members have done in the PIF threads. Which is almost equivalent trying to negate a PIF to make a sale look clean. But maybe I'm ranting on that front. I've personally PIF all three knives that I received in one PIF even though they had value as I was hoping to keep in the spirit of this thread.

Enough of that though, I have been very blessed the past few weeks by BF members and want to make sure I keep the karma going rather than be selfishly hoarding knives. A knife is of no use if it's not being used. An awesome knife maker once said something to that effect.

Also up is a modified Opinel #9 same request. Must have BF history showing that you are a contributing member and not just trying to get into GAW or PIF's. It doesn't matter that you don't have many knives or get more than you give, as that matters less than your participation in BF on subject matter and helping newbies out and such! I was going to put on a fresh edge to the Opinel with a diamond hone. But I'm going to let the person that gets it do it. It's quite sharp right now as is, but like everyone else who has ever touched up an Opi they can see first hand how quickly that process is. PS I modified the handle to fit how I grip it when I do summer gardening. So it's fitted to my hand in certain positions. Feel free to mod the heck out of it!

Well there were certainly some shenanigans that happened in the thread and I was definitely burned sending a knife to an abandoned lot in Florida, that person was caught having two registered names just to get in on PIF, he claimed two items under two names. Which was idiotic as he could have just claimed an item with no tom foolery.

The shenanigans is the pink elephant in the room that no one is talking about. But personally, I didn't want that to ruin the spirit of this thread. I think we should all be wiser in how we do the PIF though. I hate to say it but if someone has 4 posts and they are all for GAW's only I'm not sending them anything, period. If there is evidence that they are flipping the item in the for sale section then they ain't getting anything from me either. Other than that if the person is snarky or anything like that, I don't care, I'm not judging its based purely on who called dibs, or a random generator and either because they need it or they give away enough stuff to warrant being on the receiving end and that's it. All BS put aside.

I have not been keeping up with the thread. Who was it that claimed items like that? I never followed up on anything that I gave away. I still have the items that I received through this PIF and the GAW that I won. Most of all of my other knives I sold off for funds.

Is there anything in your kitchen that you might not have or be interested in like a Santoku or a Chinese slicing chef knife? If you are well stocked the next time I stop at my Chinatown in NYC I can try to find something interesting for you and the wife. They have a lot of very decent user quality Chinese gear down there. My personal favorite item is this a Chinese hand strainer.
