Nothing personal but I would like to see this go to someone who has contributed to this community. The Ka-Bar is still on the table for now.
I am going to take my kids trick or treating tonight. I hate wearing make up but I'm thinking about going as Captain Spaulding. I think I will be able to pull that off pretty good.
Nice :thumbup: I dressed as Michael Myers once and I had mother's crossing the street to get away from me. It was so funny. Kids didnt really know who I was. I am not tall by any means, 6'1", but my Danners get me to about 6'3" or close to it. I had so many ladies blinding me with flashlights, it was hilarious. I mean I wasn't trying to scare anyone, I was just walking down the street with my wife and son!
Mornin folks! My latest contribution is a bit of a fixer-upper. I have an excellent condition Ka-bar 1444 skinner. The catch here is it has NO SHEATH! It currently resides in and will ship in top grain Hobo leather. LoL I have had this for 6 years or so and never used it. I picked it up either at a flea market or antique shop. This was Ka-Bar's answer to the Schrade Sharpfinger.
The only requirement to claim this is that you actually plan to use it. Just post "I'll take it" followed by PM or email.
Bear... what is top grain Hobo leather? Is that like a bag or something? Not claiming the knife, I am just wondering what that is

Haha, yeah hobo leather is another term for good old cardboard! Of course it is "stitched" together with duct tape. LoL

ive never thought of myself as a freeloader, since Sept 17th I have given away 3 Moras, a starter for a Harley, 2 kydex sheaths that I made, a keltec pf9, a tiller and a bunch of clothes. I have 2 knives on my desk that i was going to photo and "contribute" this weekend to this forum, thanks for the welcome.

There's a whole lineup of stacked leather handled ones in current production (Taiwan made), you can find vintage US made versions of them at the bay for cheap..
I think that this was a result of a member here whose "little brother" started asking for all kinds of stuff behind the lines through email. IIRC the user's "little brother" had listed stuff and said he sent it, but I don't think anyone had gotten anything from him. I may be mistaken. I don't think that there were any mal intentions on Bear's part. Just my $.02 on what I have read on this thread.

Perhaps he's not even talking about physically giving in this thread. The guys been here since may, only has 19 posts and of those only 2 arnt in this, or another GAW. Lots of people may have nothing physical to give away, and thats no fault of theirs, but "giving" to our online community can be done in other ways. Answer a question, give some advice, something.
I'm defiantly not trying to start anything, but perhaps bear's decision is based on more than wether or not anyone has or hasn't physically gave anything away...

no mal intentions taken, I received an email from him and I wanted it to be clear that I wasn't here for quote "free stuff". Thanks to all that have generously let me try a couple things I have not yet tried, ill jeep using my tractor supply skinner for now.

problem with that is most of the time by the time I get to a thread somebody else has already adequately answered the question. I don't want to just be repeating people.

yeah I registered in May, discovered the forum a couple months before that and did some reading as there is a whole lot of info here. Just as others here by the time I get a chance to read it reply I am days behind. I have made most my posts in the last week or so because I have been off work using vacation before I change jobs.
ill likely stay clear of this thread until I establish some forum post street cred, lol.
no ill feelings here but in the future if there are special rules or considerations to the generous giveaways they should be stated for the newbies like me

I have been a participant since the first thread in this saga and I have seen a few members who racked up many items in a short time and never gave anything to the community whether tangible items or helpful words of wisdom. I guess those few bad apples have jaded me a bit and I was just trying to be cautious.
