Forget his name. BlueCollar something, saying he and another member would give away a knife if they received 10 used knives, a better knife for 20, even better for 30 etc. For "policemen". This after a similar incident of greediness through a couple of threads. He's since disappeared.

Sometimes people really are trying to do something good, but can foil it with their previous/current actions and words. In this case, it was hard to believe the altruism.
 
Don't know if i ever said thank you but i was impressed with how RemyKaze stepped in and handled that other guys "police" thread. I have LEO in my family, and have lost a cousin in the line of duty. I was preparing a profanity laced response when Remy stepped in and deftly handled it. Thank you, it was much appreciated

No worries. I think that if someone really wanted to organize something like that, we would all be willing to participate if it were on the level. I'm not a huge fan of the government, but the LEOs and soldiers are everyday joes doing dangerous jobs for way less money than they deserve, often doing things they would rather not if given a choice.

I try to see the difference between the govt and the soldiers/LEO themselves.

On the otherhand...i did get a knife from that guy though
 
Nothing against him personally, and i don't know if it was a scam. It just touched a nerve and Remy without knowing it prevented me from posting something truly stupid

I saved that partial message as a reminder, i would have really regretted it.

I did find the tent! I am going to set it up tomorrow to make sure it is in working order, if so it is yours! Shipping this is going to be .... interesting ;). Found the Ka-Bar too, at least when i lose stuff it apparently happens in pairs :)
 
I hadn't been on bladeforums for a while due to some elitism and groupthink I was experiencing and I was getting hooked on the knife exchange :p but when I came back I saw part 3 and read through it immediately. I was thrilled by the idea that some of my gear and other items could be given to someone who can use them. Especially considering where I'm at, I don't know many people into these things. Also some of the things I had given away were just forgotten about or lost by the receipients due to lack of care. Here I feel like the things I give away go to good use and are actually appreciated. I actually would like to thank everyone who has kept this thread alive, it's great to see the good vibes and I really hope this thread stays pure in its intention and that it lives on for a long time.

With that said, Go Browns?
 
Hi everyone,

To get this back on track, I have a tuf-cloth regular not marine version, barely used that I would like to pay forward to someone who intends to use it to protect their gear. I would also like for this person to be someone who contributes or plans to contribute in the near future to the thread. You do not need to be established on here, but if you get the opportunity to pay forward on here or in the local community in your area in the future I would feel better giving it to someone who does that. If that is not the type of person you are and you are asking for it out of greed please go somewhere else.

I would appreciate if you could also give me the reason you would like it.

E-mail through the Forum if you agree to abide by those conditions. 1 available. I will try to get this to the person I feel embodies these characteristics best based on the available information.

Lol. Happens in pairs.

Man, if its not too much to ask, when you set it up, shoot a video of how to do it for me so I'll be somewhay literate of how to use the rain fly properly and such.

I never learned any of that stuff, just cram the piles through the tie outs and wrap the fly in the outside
