I'll try that Gator out. Why not? (:

Anyone ever own one of these? Any words on steel/lockup/handle for the under-educated?

It's all yours. It's a decent knife. US made. Not sure of the steel. Handle is pretty grippy. Only used it a couple of times to clean some game. Email me your address, and I'll get it out by Monday.

I used one exclusively in that exact configuration for several summers as a trip leader for an outward bound type organization years ago. As i remember the lockup was good, it was easy to sharpen, and the rubber like handles were super grippy. I cut a ton of stuff with it and did really abuse it, and it still worked well. I still have it but it is full of river sand from when i had to "rescue" an errant canoe on the buffalo river in arkansas. Woulld be a really good hunting knife

Lol and this is something else i love about this thread, i couldn't disagree with RemyKaze more. I just got my first Para 2 a month ago, and just don't get it. It is very nice, great slicer, but just not for me. I couldn't help but compare it to a Gayle Bradley, quite possibly my favorite EDC, and to me there is no comparison. But here, i can freely give that knife to someone who will use the crap out of it and enjoy it, instead of it just sitting in my safe with me wondering why i ever bought it.

And yes i will eventually offer that knife too, whether here or for my 1 year anniversary. :)

Did you just offer up a para 2? If no one snagged it I will and in turn offer up the Rat 1 you ordered for me. I'm also giving the strop Remy was giving me to totaldbag

 sounds like that's what I need, then.

Edit: on a side note, how do I get it to quote who posted along with what they said?

Everyone raves and raves about Opinels. I handled an Opinel once...seemed like a decent knife, but for some reason I just couldn't warm up to it. I guess I'm a superficial guy who likes G10 and fancy steels

But...but...no TOOTHPICK??! :(

The only tooth pick i'll ever need.

God I'd love to have a toothpick. I spent a fair amount of my summer in antique shops looking for a Case toothpick. LOVE the blade shape and classy-ness of them. Gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

Ok gang, I have a couple more things to give. Seeing as I have amazing people on here claiming things for me, it's only fair that I post some more stuff. I don't care who is goes to, honestly...just use it.
First up is some shoes....I've worn them a handful of time, and the only dirt they really have is some dust. Don't worry, they are mens shoes. Patagonia Snoutler sage. Vibram soles, size 9.5 in mens. Here's the thing, I wear a 9 in mens and these are a little too small...probably on account of my monkey feet. So I'm thinking they will fit a size 8.5 just fine, or even maybe a 9.....so long as you don't have monkey toes. They are completely leather...well suede and leather. The second up for grabs is my first Mora. Don't remember what model number it is. It's a carbon blade, has a little patina on it. I sanded off the red paint, and tried to give it some texture...meh, it's works. Comes with the plastic stock sheath. This is a sweet ass blade that is ready for some abuse. Since I just scored that sweet blade from Johnny/Worldwood, I thought I would pass this on. I hate having stuff lying around that I do not use. This can go as one package or seperate, makes no difference to me honestly. Cheers!

I cant in good conscience call this rat 1 but someone should for all the good things people have say about them. I think I saw they even come in pink?? Must be popular to hold up to such a unusual color...

It never leaves my pocket unless called upon, I had to fish it out of my jeans to take the picture.

I wish I would have noticed that lol A para 2 is my grail knife. I wish I could afford one >.<

I have never even held an opinel. I mean they look nice, like sort of a big-ish traditional, but i am totally uninitiated. Would someone explain the appeal? They are really good working knives, correct? Yes, i can look this up myself but more fun to ask here.
