Yeah, I have tried the Opinel, just can't warm to them. I tend to cut myself with them for some reason. Not sure if it is the lack of a guard, "action" of the locking ring so close to the blade, or the variable blade tension based on humidity.

So I'm not going to beg for a thing, but if anyone has anything I'm looking for I'd love to talk:

Case toothpick
Condor machete
Spyderco Endura SS
Coldsteel American Lawman
Benchmade Griptilian
Spyderco Paramilitary two

Thanks all! And to mention I still have three items availiable no one has claimed for themselves, Buck Smidgen, Gerber EAB, 31st edition of KNIVES!

1. The handle fits perfectly in to your hand

2. The blade is carbon steel and the grind make it THE best slicer I own

3. as previously mentioned, the carbon steel blade can be resharpened to hair-popping sharp in a minute or two

4. The collar lock makes it so that you can lock it firmly in place so when you use it, it won't come back and slice a finger or two, and it can also keep it locked close so it won't come open accidentally (never had it happen but if you mod it so that you can flip it open, it makes it a necessity.

5. Relatively inexpensive compared to other knives in the market

6. Very sturdy

7. The fact that it's made up of 5 parts makes it easy to take apart and mod and the wooden handle can be sanded down/engraved/restained with ease adding a personal touch to the knife

I am offering to order someone a brand spanking new opinel no 8, would you like to be the one to stamp that ticket :D?

I greatly appreciate the generous offer, but it seems there are many others who know a lot more about them that would enjoy it more. Thank you very much but i'll pass for someone else

I think they're ok. I like Svord better. Speaking of which I think I might put a Svord Peasant up. If people like friction folders. I just have knives thst I carry for fun but don't see serious pocket time.

Yet ANOTHER brand i haven't tried. I may make my monthly trip to GPKNIVES tomorrow, they are going going to hate me. Can i see that? And that? And that? :)

Whetstone i am the same way at the local gun store that happens to have a wide variety of knives. Its nice though because i get to hold all of the knives that i will never be able to afford. Lol

Buck 371 is still available.

I was just talking with my dad, a great guy in his 60's and a big fan of traditional's, he informed me and i quote "one of you idiots should grab that 371 and quit (edit)ing around with all of that other stuff". Someone grab that now!

Listen up, there is a give away in this post!!! Not the sapien.. ;)

OK so here's the deal, earlier today I received such an awesome blade from remmy, its really what I've been looking for.

So it arrived at 11am and 4 hours and a diamond rod later it was laser sharp. So sharp in fact that i cut myself shaving the arm and didn't even notice.

So to pay it forward, I would like to offer up the knife that it has basically replaced.

It has similar construction (full width tang, 1/8" thick" PS I don't like em that thick but it works) only thing is that there is 2 things.

1, There is no sheath. The sheath it came with didn't fit it and has been donated to my Mora 511.

2, it's Chinese made. I don't know what to think about that and neither do you... it is shaving sharp. I honed it just a little bit and got it cutting paper, did some woodcraft with it (feather sticks, notching) and the edge has held up. Idk about batonning but it should hold up. Ad I said its basically a solid piece of metal with what appears to be genuine antler and a guard pinned over it.

Here's the knife:

There are no stipulations, 1st come 1st serve. I would like it to be a reply to the thread so everyone can see it's taken, followed by an email to get my attention.

I only ask that whoever takes it, not have a good fixed blade belt knife that can fill this role of "hunting/possible survival/outdoors knife".

Because if you have a nice one in similar size then you obviously don't need my sketchy Chinese one (hence the reason I'm passing it on). If all you have is a large chopper or machete or non full tang, then I think you still need this knife.

If you don't have one, it should hold you over just fine. I know its Chinese but honestly I was impressed with the overall build quality of it and would take it over nothing any day.

Good for you! Hope that works out for you!

Glad you like the package and that it went to somebody who needed them.
Yea, I just bought a car and intend to use the magnets to convert a canvas drop cloth into a car cover.

Also IMA Cologne gut whose bottle had ran empty lol.

Hey man, what would you be interested in? I have that Peasant, a Kabar USMC, a Condor mini bushlore, and possibly a Mora bushcraft force. What's your taste?

It's all yours. It's a decent knife. US made. Not sure of the steel. Handle is pretty grippy. Only used it a couple of times to clean some game. Email me your address, and I'll get it out by Monday.

Email was sent a while ago. Let me know if you got it.

Bed time.

PS, I meant to say *apply*, I'm still jobless lol

Yeah but ya got that sweet, sweet sapien. Dont worry mon ami, I too am jobless as of last Friday. Attack each day as if it were the last chance for you to find an occupation, and it'll come fast.
