Pay it forward thread...the remake!

Monofletch, I'd like to have that knife if its available.

My next item--- It's a mystery!!

The specs:
8 1/4" approx
Frame lock
One G-10 green scale
Stone washed lock side
Pocket clip
Solid over sized pivot
Rock solid lock up
Thumb stud and flipper

So I'm going to throw in some creativity with a PIF right in my request. I'm putting up a Chinese Chef Knife Pattern by Dexter-Russell made in the USA. It's an industry standard knife in Chinese restaurants, so there's nothing fancy about it. It's a soft steel rockwell probably 54-55 and I only know because these things are not meat cleavers but meant for fine slicing. I hacked away at a frozen pork butt once and I dented the edge. I'm going to fix the edge before sending. That was until now...

So here's the kicker:
Originally, I wanted it to go out to someone who hasn't claimed anything yet in the PIF threads to bring in some new blood and wanted it to go to someone who could not normally go to a store near them (they sell online for like $40) but is interested in cooking. That said I posted it up twice and the threads closed twice.

So now!!! I would love for it to go to a knife maker or a home file knife maker amateur or not who hasn't taken anything yet who wants to reforge/regrind this huge chef's knife into something NASTY and useful. I.e. could they design something for this particular Rockwell hardness otherwise could they put a heat treat on it to make it harder before slapping on a new handle? Would love for them to share the after results on the forum. Amateur knife makers should apply!

I have an new knife. I did sharpen it on my new set up. It does have a few tiny scratches from getting over excited with my new diamond stones, but is new otherwise. AWESOME knife- too big and heavy for my pocket.
All I ask is that you have NOT taken anything from the P.I.F. threads and need a rock solid TACTICAL folder!
Don't just post "I'll take it" give all of us a reason you deserve it!!! :p I'll let some of the heavy givers help decide who gets it! Be creative with your replies!! Make us laugh....please!!

After it's "awarded" I will post a pic.

Not asking for it but my curiosity is out of control. Would love to see a pic of it cause I just love good beefy folders. Did a pass-around review on a Houge which I would have never guessed was as awesome as it was. But have my eyes set on a ZT after the wife finishes school. And now thanks to several of you guys I guess I'll now have to keep an eye open for a good deal on a Busse. A ton of great people on here but because of some of the knives I've seen here I'm now wanting things that are out of my price range. You people are great but your going to get me in trouble. Thanks.
Really think there are a lot of great people here & keep up the great vibe !!

Not a claim, but I just gotta say that the cleaver is so useful in the kitchen. The biggest benefit is that after you slice and dice something, you can scoop everything on the cutting board onto that wide blade and effortlessly transfer it to a pot/pan.

If you do any cooking whatsoever, and you don't already own a cleaver, go for this.

I am trying to spark more interest so we can keep this thread alive. It is a great thing we are doing. I just hope I am helping someone.

I'd like to try that unless someone else needs it more. I carry an RR canoe regularly but don't have a lockback one.

To stay ahead in karma points, anyone want a CAMCO assisted opener with a sheepsfoot blade?

Hey it's yours. It's a nice knife, sharp as hell, unused except to shred some paper. just email me with your address - rygarrett@gmail.com

Just chiming in; anyone who has anything unclaimed, feel free to repost it, perhaps with a pic unless you're playing a game. It's pretty easy to lose track of posta and you just might have that one thing someone needs. :)

I have a Winchester folding knife/multitool set. Knife used lightly, multitool is not used. Obviously not the best stuff out there, but great to throw in your car/truck/bag for emergencies!

Anyone who wants it can have it! Just respond here!

I still have a gerber para frame up.

I've gotten by for nearly a decade with a cheap multitool like that!

Need a better one yea, but if you don't have one its better than nothing and I recommend everyone have one lol.

Could you post a picture of the knife?

Man the suspense is killing me. I can't wait to see what kind of awesomeness Monofletch is giving away. LoL someone new needs to join in and claim it so the rest of us can see it!

Maybe one of the users lurking in the background will pipe up and claim it.

Don't be shy people!

Okay, I will bite! I will take it Monofletch but what is it? :)

EDIT: I need a good folder but I just back read the posts and I did get a fixed blade from the PIF thread so I guess that rules me out.

I like this idea Monofletch, and i am curious as hell as to what this is. Someone new should definitely claim that

I want to update everyone on the SAKs from Remykaze that I received. I gave the large ones to the SAK modder on the forums and the small ones will be given to a local boyscout troop as of tomorrow evening. The ones going to the SAK modder have already been mailed. Thanks again Remy!
