I don't have pay pal and don't want it.....makes it too Easy to buy a knife and other

things.

I sometimes see a knife I'd really like to have But....... its Pay Pal Only. No MO.....

I don't understand why its so important to get $$ right now instead or waiting a couple

days and elimitating the buyers who dont have pay pal and really want a knife.

Anyone with pay pal ever consider the many buyers that can't buy you knife because

they don't have Pay Pal. I guess having the $$$ Right Away is very important:confused

If I sell something its because I want the money, why wouldn't I want the money sooner than later?

People sell their knives for different reasons, you shouldn't assume they want immediate cash simply because they're impatient.

I sold a couple knives in the past due to family emergencies and the faster I can get my cash the better.

Paypal is simple to use and has become an essetial online selling/buying tool, you can't blame people for prefering it over MO.
Plus you risk losing MO during shippment and eventhough you can cacel the MO but it would be an extreme hassle to start the process over.

Perhaps you should just open your mind and an extra account and give Paypal a try.

For me, it's not so much the waiting, it's the PITA of having to go to the bank
or whatever to cash or deposit the dang thing. I use two banks, and sometimes
go years without stepping foot inside. I like to keep it that way.

Sorry guys I didn't know I could use a credit card with pay pal. If I knew how to do it I'd give it a try....then maybe I can start buying some knives I want.

I resisted PayPal for a long time but I finally caved in. It's made on-line transactions much easier.

When I state PayPal only it's because there's another knife I'm trying to snag, or an Ebay auction nearing its end. I want the funds ASAP. Often I add "PayPal only" out of habit, and I'd actually work with someone wanting to go a different route. I would recommend trying PaPal though. I use it to keep my hobby money separate from my "family" money. When I sell knives I leave the funds in my PP. That way I always have it available when something I want comes up for sale.

I would never send a money order in the mail for the same reason I won't send cash ! If it gets lost I'm screwed ! At least with paypal you have a way to get your money back !! Also it's faster , usually when I buy a knife it's an impulse buy and if I needed to go buy a MO I wouldn't have what I do :D

I don't have credit cards or PayPal. If (you) don't trust ME enough to accept a Postal Money Order from me, then you've lost out on an honest buyer...That's how I look at it.

i'm the same as you dann. i only accept postal money orders and nothing else. i have had guys send me odd money orders that they end up getting back after sending me a postal money order.

It is really not that bad, safest way to pay on line.
I now half the folks hate (been screwed by PayPal?) or just do not use a credit card.......

All Paypal transactions when correctly processed and not through the "gift" option are basically protected. Money is moved fast, and without delay. Why wouldn't a seller, given the choice, prefer that over having to wait for the mail to be delivered, then having to go to the post office to cash, means waiting in line, gas costs, time etc.... For some this is more of an issue than others, basically depending on how far from the post office you are. With busy lifestyles, family commitments, its obvious that Paypal is the best option. As has been previously mentioned by others, folk sell knives for different reasons, and emergency "I need money asap" is often a priority, and why, given the choice should we wait?

I list ALL my knives now PayPal ONLY! And one of the big reasons, in the past I had people say they would send money order payment right away. Well I would wait a week and half, and NOTHING! So I would call or email the guy, OH! I mailed it? OH I forgot, OH I don't get paid till Friday.... etc. etc. etc.....
And for some of the reasons in the quote above too.
But all that said............ I have had a couple guys email me and want to send money order? OK - over night it to me, if I don't get it next day? Knife goes back up for sale.
And that has worked out OK too. - How bad do you want it?:)

I have taken PayPal for hundreds of knives and NEVER had a problem - YET! - Knock on wood.......:D

Not true at all, if a MO is lost and never cashed the postal service will refund the buyer. I know because I've had one lost before. (fee is around 3 dollars)

I have never sold anything but I have bought lots of stuff and I always use Paypal.

In fact, I doubt I would buy a item if I couldn't use Paypal to purchase it.

When I click the "pay now" button there is no question that the seller has his money and if for some reason he doesn't live up to his part of the bargain I get my money back.

Seems the perfect solution from the perspective of a buyer.

Good to know ! Thanks for the info Jill :)

I usually accept Paypal and USPS Money Orders. However, I have had lots of issues with the latter. People seem to have a hard time following simple instructions, and I frequently receive money orders from just about everything but the US Postal Service. The result is usually delay/costs and a lot of running around trying to find somebody who is willing to honor the stupid thing. Case in point, not even Western Union, is willing to cash a Western Union Money Order, unless the recepient is willing to guarrantee the value; which makes the whole exercise both expensive and worthless.

The fees to use paypal is why I sometimes will list an item money order only. If I list it cheap as I can to move it, I don't need paypal taking 3 plus % off the top.
If the buyer has a good reputation here I've even mailed the item out, right away. Without waiting for the MO to arrive. So, while I have taken paypal, I sometimes will state MO only at this price.
(I won't ask a buyer to pay my PP fee, or use the personal tab to avoid fees either)

I actually prefer to get a USPS money order. Its just like cash.Any other type is a huge pita and just like a personal check. As said before,I seldom go to my bank anymore and dont want to,it cost me time and money. But i go to the Post office almost daily.
