Completely agree with you James. Modern small folding saws are incredibly efficient. They've become standard kit for us when we're out in the woods.

I like the laplander (and folding saws in general) because they are much lighter than a chopper. They may not be terribly versatile but for the cost in both dollars and weight they are well worth having around as an option. Great for short hikes, plenty to get you by in an emergency but they don't weigh you down.

Right on! They're so light and handy and work so quickly, it's just silly not to have one in your pack... even the cheapo Coughlan's one honestly works pretty decent. After watching that vid I'm pretty interested in that Silky PocketBoy, too.

I've never used a hammock, so I have to ask if you can only sleep on your back in one? I have sleep apnea and generally only sleep on my side or stomach and am wondering if I'd like a hammock or not.

I'm only 5'-6" I've had small hammocks I think the double nest would be good, gonna get mine at REI so I can return it if its too big.

I love the DN!!

I bought mine from... Well it rhymes with "fountain gear" and they personally guarantee everything they sell for life, if your not happy for any reason during the life of the product they will replace it or refund you.. I had an issue with the first hammock i got and they not only replaced it, but they over-nighted me the new one and paid for the return of the old one, and the lady i talked was a sweet heart!! Because of their service i plan to use them any time they have something i need.

Also, as far as hanging the hammock i love the "Hammock Hang Calculator" app, tells you just how high to anchor the hammock depending on how high you want it to sit, gives the angle and everything for when your in it by using your body weight, the hammock size, and distance between trees or anchors....

BUT... I have found that im more comfortable making it just a little looser than the app recommends... So i start off using the app then just loosen it up a wee bit from there and its PERFECT for me.

I could go for an afternoon of drinking in a hammock someplace warm and sunny in the shade :D

The only times I sleep on my back is while intoxicated in one way shape or form. My wife hates it cause I snore like a truck when I do :D

The forum is blocking my PMs, posts, emails from here.....

Multi quote is sending me to the "webpage unavailable" page when i hit post message.

710 i was look into how they make resin scales last night.. But mostly found people using plastic resin to make paperweights and stuff like that... is that also what knifemakers use a plastic resin?

AC, my son can sleep in the DN on his stomach.... But he is small LOL.. I tried laying on my stomach once but it wasnt comfortable to me.

Hey WW, I've been searching for a hook up for a truck bed set up for a hammock but I can only find the hammock chair tailgate set up. If you find something let me know cause I've been sketching up some plans for a truck set up, not sure if I wanna go with a fixed double or single hammock hang...

The kids here who won't do homework scare me. Hope you don't have particularly lofty college aspirations, if that's the case. GPA is only part of the equation. They also look at the difficulty of your transcript.

Todd, congrats on the plasma cutter! That looks like a really neat tool. They're always using it on ManAtArms to make their stuff, although I'd bet you have to renormalize after using it, right?

Some ideas...

I sleep on my side, and it's fine in a hammock, but not as comfortable as laying on my back drinking a beer...

I always get my homework done on time whether I'm in school or not but I always try to get it done before I leave school so I don't have hours if stuff to do once I get home

LOL, I've seen all those, I guess no one has come up with what I'm about to make.

Yea thats all i seen in my quick search... I look forward to seeing what you come up with!!

Not sure if you seen my question above, Are the knife resin scales made of plastic resin? Or another certain type of resin??

Sorry, trying to SnArK and work at the same time... They are shock resistant high impact plastic resin, kinda like them handles on screw drivers..

No worries at all bro, Thanks for the info!!

Hmmm... I may have to try capturing something in resin....

I can sleep on my side in mine. It takes a bit of wiggling, but it works fine. You're probably gonna want some sort of pillow; I just used a folded-up towel.

In other news, I think I'm going to inherit my wife's Skeeter Beeter and give her mine... she hates the net (makes her feel claustrophobic) but I don't mind it.
